I had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Asgard Guest House and I cannot recommend highly enough staying there. As opposed to the detached feeling I always have with staying at hotels, returning to this guest house at the end of each day of sightseeing felt like returning home. The location is a short walk (about 600 meters) from the central train and bus stations and downtown Galway. The staff couldn't have be more gracious, attentive and hospitable, the room and bed were super comfortable and spacious and clean. They serve a lovely breakfast buffet and seating is in a glassed in dining room with the view of their beautiful garden, a beautiful view I also had from my room window on the floor above. The only downside was the bathroom, which is very outdated and needs renovation. I most highly recommend staying here!!

A guesthouse that feels like home - most highly recommend!

On meeting Fergal on our arrival we were at once made to feel welcome. Our room was tastefully decorated, with fresh clean bedding with ensuite bathroom. Next morning we ate our Full Irish breakfast in the conservatory. All the girls who cooked and served breakfast or cleaned and hoovered were always smiling, cheerful and polite. So yes we will be back and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Our First Time And It Won't Be The Last

Very cute and comfy guesthouse. Despite the oldish feel, everything was very clean and nice. Room was tiny but had everything one could need. Staff was very friendly and breakfest was great. Hope to come again sometimes! 

Very cute little questhouse!

So this B&B is a 5-7 minute walk from the city-center. Totally doable if you're getting off a bus or train. The rooms are small - they pretty much just fit a bed, end table and closet. I was out and about so that didn't matter to me. You get your own bathroom and both room and bathroom were spotless when I arrived. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. I was in a rush two mornings having slept a little too late. They popped out some scrambled eggs super fast for me before I ran out the door. They have a nice breakfast spread and a really nice dining room overlooking a tiny garden with flowers.

Very Nice Stay

Very family friendly, kind and thorough attention to detail. Extremely tasty breakfast with fresh baked croissants and endless pots of coffee as well as loads more continental style. One of the friendliest breakfast rooms too, we chatted away with everyone staying there. Easy to access from Eyre sq, train and bus station, up a little hill from all. Would definitely return. Thank you.

Fab stay

Clean, but small and compact room. Easy casual walk to town. Fergal was very friendly and accomodating and Marta was helpful with restaurant and bar suggestions. Breakfast was included. Continental style with very fresh food items: cereals, breads, etc. The only negative was the noise from the above room. We could hear every footstep.

Comfortable Stay

Room was small, but clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Within walking distance from train and bus stations and  many restaurants, pubs and shopping .  Breakfast was delicious and fast. Lovely sitting area downstairs. Be prepared to climb stairs 

Close to the city

I stayed here for 2 nights with my friends for St. Patrick’s weekend. The room was clean and comfortable with tea making facilities. The owner, Stephen, couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast was everything you could want. The location is excellent- just a short walk to the city center. There was onsite parking. It was quite expensive but that’s normal for one of the busiest weekends of the year!! I would definitely recommend this place if you want a comfortable stay in Galway.

Perfect girly weekend 

We were traveling with another couple and both of our rooms were small.  For us that was not a problem as we were touring Ireland on the light side.  But for our very tall friend he got a room that was at the top, probably formally the attic, it had a pitched ceiling and he could only stand in certain sections of the room.  Also the room and bathroom condition was a bit basic and worn.  Not out of the realm of reasonably priced B&Bs.

The staff were all very nice and helpful.  The breakfast in the atrium room was lovely.  And the five to ten minute walk to town meant we were in the heart of the action and Eyre square and Latin Quarter very quickly.

Small rooms

We stayed here in early June 2019 -- disappointed that there was not enough parking and we had to park on the street and would have had to feed the meter if it hadn't been Sunday.  Room had 2 beds, and small dresser and nothing else -- no night stand, no chairs.  Bathroom is very small, even by European standards.  And we could hear the guy next door snoring -- walls are paper thin.  Luckily the guests were quiet when we stayed but if they had not been, it would have been tough to sleep.  And it cost about 170 Euros (roughly $200) per night.  Seems steep to us --- we paid about the same for a much nicer and more spacious room in Dublin, and much less in Dingle and Kenmare.  On the positive side, staff was very friendly, location was good (walkable to City Center, but far enough away not to be noisy), and breakfast room is light and airy.
