I really enjoyed my one night stay here and wished that I had booked a longer visit. Yes, the guesthouse is on a busy commercial street and you may hear traffic all through the night, but the noise never disrupted my sleep. The bed was comfortable, the room was cozy, the bathroom was clean, and the location to all of Kenmare can't be beat. There is even a small sitting room on the second floor with a refrigerator and hot beverage supplies in addition to the restaurant below. Neil was the perfect host, speedy in our previous communications, and upon arriving, lugging my heavy bag up the stairs to my room. Thank you, Neil for your hospitality!

Great place to stay

Take no notice of the bad review below, they were clearly having a bad day!
Virginia’s is a great little place to stay in the heart of Kenmare.
Yes it is dated and not modern as such but it’s very cosy, clean bathroom and perfect location not to mention great value for money.
Neil was fabulous, showed me around and even organised taxis for me - thanks Neil! 
Another tip - Mick and Jimmy’s restaurant downstairs is a must! The nacho omelette was amazing!

Great little place, amazing location!

Excellent location, just off main street. Parking available on the street outside, loads of shops, chemists and pubs/restaruants nearby. short walk to the water and plenty to do in kenmore. Well priced and very clean accommodation. would recommend to a friend and would stay here again. 

Lovely Guesthouse

I chose this because of Rick Steves’s glowing review. What I found good: proximity to town center, size of room, comfortable beds, clean room. What wasn’t so great: drab appearance of room (old carpet, dark room), tiny shower with curtain. In hindsight I would have paid more for something else, but if you’re on a budget this is great for you. 

Good location to shops and restaurants 

Disappointing to say the least. The place is severely run down. The walls were grimy. Especially around the light switches, the least they could do is clean peoples dirt off the walls. The carpet is years old and outdated. The bathroom had a lot of mould on the ceiling. The only good thing about this place is its location.

Very run down

Quite roomy accommodations and in a perfect, prime location. Great bed, lots of dresser space, TV. Little hallway noise; nice common room with teas, kettle, etc. Walking distance to everything in Kenmare. Neil was lovely & responsive.

Just right lodging

Virginas is in perfect location. I am a tour guide and I stay here regularly.  The rooms are spacious and clean. There is complementary tea and coffee on the first floor.  This is great accommodation for all the family at an affordable price.


Fantastic accommodation 

The location is great in the middle of the town, a few hundred meters outside you can park your car without charge. In the EC there is a nice cafe for breakfast. A little confused landlord, there are guests coming running, but he's away every now and then and then you wait. The room is clean and spacious, a little lightheaded. You could make more of it if you took care of something, for example with us the closet crawled for a while if you went around the room, you could fix it on the wall then it would be quiet if you got the room but you can always rent it anyway without any problems you can leave it like this. We would sleep here again if we needed to, but first we would look for something else.

Great location, but nothing special.

We can highly recommend this guest house because of its facilities and location. The central location in Kenmare has many advantages, but also disadvantages for hearing-sensitive people due to its location on the main road. Parking is not a problem. In addition, there are numerous pubs and restaurants. From Kenmare you can easily reach all the sights, so we were very satisfied with the four nights. In short - recommended!

Very good base for exploring the Ring of Kerry

A very clean, convenient and cozy B&B. Very centrally located and yet very quiet. Few decorations in the facility, but Neil's warm and friendly manner made this point quite okay again. Breakfast is not offered in the B&B, but it has an all-day breakfast room right next door without the need to go on the street. There is a lot of breakfast options. Kenmare is a very beautiful village and a must if you go to see the Ring of Kerry.
