We stayed here for two nights with our two years old daughter last week. Our little girl absolutely loved the entire house, the lovely host Delia and their dog Oscar, so did we! The house is so beautifully designed inside and outside, located right by the river. Our room was so cute and quiet with the river view from our window. The owners are kind and they make sure you enjoy your stay! They also have such a good taste to decorate the house in a lively, vibrant way. See the pictures attached. The breakfast was very fresh and included various local products. Delia was very helpful and friendly during our entire stay. I would totally stay there again if we visit this part of Ireland again!

Beautiful B&B by the river and such a memorable experience!

We had an excellent stay at Grove Country Lodge. 

Rooms were private and though the Guesthouse was busy, we did not hear a noise from other staying
TV had international channels available.
Excellent recommendation from host for food - even rang ahead for us to book a table to make sure we got in. 
Good local knowledge - Fergus had good advice about Inch Beach for a run.
Good selection of high quality products for breakfast.

There was nothing negative to say - we were able to walk to the restaurant in town - there is just enough room at the side of the road walking to feel safe and it’s only for 100 yards until there’s pavement - this is an issue for the local council to sort, The restaurant was in the old Church of Ireland, beautiful setting, beautiful food. Probably the best meal on our trip. We knew nothing about Kilorglin before we arrived, and we were pleasantly surprised by it. 

I was sad to hear the owners are selling the property as a going concern. I hope whoever takes over maintains the standard. In the meantime, make sure you visit this property under the current owners.

We would come back and base ourselves here happily for a few days, even a week here. Highly recommended.

Excellent Stay, We Would Return

We stayed in this beautiful guesthouse for two days in June. We are a family of four, two adults and two children, and we were booked two adjacent rooms. What to say... our stay was perfect!! We loved the care and cleanliness of the rooms, the dream atmosphere of the garden, the super kindness and availability of the hosts who cheered us and recommended the best routes in the neighborhood. And finally the superb breakfasts! Absolutely an accommodation we feel we would recommend with all our heart, and we would love to return to! Thank you for everything!!!

A charming stay

Extremely friendly and welcoming and an excellent breakfast. 
As soon as we stepped through the door Fergus made us feel at home. The family couldn't have done more for us, offering to book somewhere for supper, suggesting places to go and people to speak to. The rooms were comfortable (although sound travelled through the floor so I woke whenever the upstairs room used their bathroom).
Nice touch to have a well stocked kitchen area for guests to make tea and coffee.
A great location for exploring the beautiful areas both north and south of Killorglin. 

The friendliest welcome 

We travel a lot and Grove Lodge ranks among the top. Warm welcome. To avoid steps we requested a ground floor room and we were pleased to be given a room opening onto our own patio. Excellent breakfast. Helpful information for days out. We stayed for four nights and would certainly return.

Excellent, highly recommended.

We stayed just the one night while down hiking Carrauntoohil.  The rooms were spotless and plenty of space.   The nice hot shower was just what was needed for our group.   
Delia suggested eating in Bunkers in town and it was only a 10 min walk.  When we got back later we were able to sit in the lounge and have a wee beer or coffee and relax.  
The breakfast in the Grove was fantastic and filled me from the day till lunch.  
Everyone we delt with was lovley and even other guests remarked the same.

Great stay after hiking

Grove Lodge is a lovely hotel.  The rooms are a good size, the bed was comfortable and the hosts were very nice. I really thought this was a pretty setting but was disappointed that there was no place to walk around the river.  There is a path down to the river but it ends there with some seating areas which were nice.  There is a little fishing dock if you wanted to fish.  We had hoped we could walk into town but there was no sidewalk and the traffice was pretty busy and you had to just walk on the road aways before you came to the sidewalk. It was very close to town so we drove in, but it would have been nice to walk.  The road was very busy and we heard road noise at night since we had the windows open but it wasn't too bad. The hot breakfast every morning was delicious, with home made breads that were wonderful.  The hosts were amazingly, I even got a recipe for the bread! We stayed 3 nights.  It is a good location for a base to other towns and things to do that are close by.

Pretty area

I call our stay at the Grove Lodge Country House an EXPERIENCE due to the extraordinary nature of this incredible accommodation.  We stayed four nights with Delia and Fergus as our hosts and each day, felt as if we started and ended our days in a lovely haven.  I travel frequently to Ireland and can honestly say that I have rarely, if ever, encountered such beautiful, comfortable, clean, spacious and well-appointed rooms.  And oh the breakfasts!  Every detail of taste and presentation was exquisitely attended to, so much so that we often planned our schedule and dining preferences for the day around first and foremost enjoying our morning send-off at this B&B.  Killorglin itself is an extremely convenient location from which to explore the surrounding area. I call Grove Lodge a haven due to its convenient access to a travel thoroughfare, yet beside a lovely river and lush surroundings of trees and flowers. If in this area again, I will most certainly return to this beautiful place and to these fantastic hosts!

CAPITAL BED & BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE!

This was a beautiful setting, lovely interior spaces overlooking the nice river including a path down to the river and garden seating. The only negative was that there is no sidewalk for about a hundred meters of the walk into Killorglin (we like to walk; for driving, it was no problem at all to get into town). The room was quite comfortable, the breakfast every morning was delicious, and hosts were amazingly attentive. We stayed several nights and felt spoiled. We highly recommend Grove Lodge!!

Beautiful, comfortable space!

The Grove Lodge is hands down the most beautiful place we have stayed on our trip. I would honestly come all the way back to Ireland just to spend a few days here. The rooms were clean and cozy with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. Breakfast was spectacular and they do all of their own baking on the premises. The spread was unlike anything we've seen at other B&B's. Fergus and Delia were great hosts and took the time to talk to everyone individually about their upcoming travel day giving helpful tips and tricks about where to go. Killlorglin had a surprisingly great dining scene and some really neat local pubs as well.
