I stayed here recently and it was not a positive experience.
The room I stayed in did not have a kitchenette as advertised, nor did it have a window so it was dark and musty. It was evident that the rooms were not cleaned at all - everything was covered in dust. There was cobwebs in every corner & I counted 9 spiders in my room alone. 
The front door remained unlocked at all times, and I wasn’t even given a key to lock the room I was staying in, which is unacceptable. 
I would not recommend staying at ‘Joys’ & certainly will not be returning.

Extremely Disappointing Stay

Great location, hotel is a little tired.  Joy was very nice and run a quiet hotel.  street parking and I was lucky and got one just outside. No breakfast, but provides tea and coffee.  I think it was a good price and I would stay here again. Wi Fi was spotty.

Great location

We spent 2 nights at Joy's accommodation and it catered for our needs perfectly. We felt so chilled out there and it was like a home from home experience..it was quirky, and had a lovely decking area if you want to sit and have a smoke, or to soak up some rays..

Fab location 

I have never stayed in such bad accommodation,  location was good owner or caretaker seemed quite friendly,  we were treated at the door by a lady wearing a old holey cardigan , room had nowhere to hang your clothes on hooks on the wall furniture was old , towels were worn & hard , in fact I thought I go e back in time 100 years wood shavings all over the floor sheets & bedding looked,  this place definitely needs refurbishment badly   , would never stay there again & also paid 73€ a night for the experience

Good location

First the positives: the location is perfect, a brief walk from the town centre. Although the property offers no car parking on the premises, nevertheless I easily found free parking in the street nearby. There is free wifi & it works well
Now the drawbacks: the stairs needed sweeping; my room had no en suite bathroom & the shared one on my floor was not clean enough. The mat on the floor needed vacuuming & the floor had dirt buildup in the corners near the shower recess. My room had bunk beds which squeaked when I moved. The curtains were old & stained. (Nevertheless the bed was comfortable & I did sleep well.)
No breakfast is provided (unless you count a small packaged pain au chocolat & a small bottle of orange drink). 
The cost of this room for one night was 60 euros. I have been staying in b&b's around Ireland for four weeks & in my considered opinion the accommodation provided was only worth 30/35 euros at best. 
I would never consider staying here again.

You can do a lot better than stay here.

This place is perfectly positioned close to everything in Kinsale town. It is budget accommodation with a quirky, clean interior and I found the room warm with plenty of space. Yes the walls are a little thin but that's more to do with the original wooden floors to be fair and my roomie and I both slept soundly and enjoyed out time here. I would definitely stay here again as Kinsale can be very overpriced and really the only time spent in the room will be when your sleeping or using the kitchen facilities which are well equipped for chatting over pizza at 2am.
