From the moment we booked Frewin House Regina was fantastic. Arranged a better room for us for the first 4 nights and booked the local restaurant for us on our first night.  Frewin House is a haven of tranquility so don't expect a TV or hustle and bustle . Our room for the first 4 nights was the Green Room ( Glas) and it was fantastic with a lovely comfortable bed a lovely ensuite bathroom and a lovely reading room with 100's of books. Breakfast every morning was excellent with a great variety of fresh fruit yogurts and cereals and lovely orange juice and freshly cooked selection of eggs & breakfast items. On the 5th night we moved to the Yellow room( Bui) and again it was excellent with a really comfortable 4 poster and a lovely ensuite bathroom with bath and a private shower room available to us also. The hospitality we received was exceptional and i cannot recommend Frewin house Highly enough it is great . By the way take you time to browse through the myriad of books and collectibles in the lovely libraries/reading rooms- well worth it. 

Fantastic Stay

Had a magnificent time at Regina’s and Thomas’s. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem for a relaxing holiday away from the chaos of life. Our room was not only wonderful but was complemented with our own private library/sitting room. We will be back for sure!

We discovered your house by chance and we were delighted. Thank you for your kind hospitality and for your precious advice. Your breakfast was wonderful, the best one we had in Ireland! Your house gave us the feeling of what an Irish family house is. Thank you again!

Great place!

I stayed here for 1 night with my husband and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful old Rectory brought into the 21stC, but not too much. We stayed in the White room which had a lovely sitting room adjoined. We sat outside and drank tea and then inside in the library with a roaring fire... perfect.

Breakfast was delicious and taken in the sunny dining room.

Excellent experience.

A Little Piece of Heaven

After many years traveling around Ireland this perhaps the best I found. Such an extraordinary building with a spectacular garden. Regina is a perfect host and bit rooms and breakfast are just exactly what you expected in such a place! Hope to come again!!

Perhaps the best B&B in Ireland…

In the style of M&S adverts "This is not just a B&B.....this is Frewin House B&B. This place is fabulous in every way.  We were warmly welcomed by Regina with a cup of tea in the library when we arrived.  Our room was large with a seating area and a very comfortable bed.  Regina told us we had exclusive use of a shower room a short distance away but we both loved having a bath as we'd sat in the car for long periods of time and both being of the age when aches and pains are more frequent.  Soaking in a huge bath with endless hot water was bliss.
We stayed on a Monday and there aren't many eating places open on a Monday night but Regina phoned through to one for us and we had a meal a few miles away.
Breakfast was great.  The porridge was just how I like it and husband had perfectly cooked poached eggs.  It set us up for another long day.
We had 21 stops on our drive of the complete Wild Atlantic Way and Great Causeway Road in the North and this was one of the best and certainly most memorable.  Loved the eclectic collections of 'things' everywhere in the house.  This stopover was one of the most expensive we had but we certainly 'got what we paid for'.

Fabulous house, great breakfast and friendly host

From Regina's first warm welcome we loved our three day stay at Frewin House.
It is truly a place apart.  
Books, books and treasures to view at every turn. 
 The seomra bán ( white room) was a haven of taste and relaxation.  Such a comfortable bed, and breakfast was delicious with lots of choices of locally sourced food. 
We will definitly be back. 
And a big thank you to Thomas also for your very entertaining tales and local lore.

ENCHANTING

We had an absolutely gorgeous stay at this beautiful historic house. Our bedroom was comfortable and big, plenty of natural light and a private reading room which was a welcomed surprise. The greatest joy to this place however was the welcome we received and the care that was given to us throughout our stay. Delicious hot breakfasts both mornings with lots of care taken to ensure social distancing. Perhaps most importantly for the time that's in it we felt safe, with our host wearing a visor for the entirety of our stay but at no point did it feel overbearing. I would 100% recommend Frewin House to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing time away from it all with some of Donegal's greatest sights only a short drive away.

Take me back to Frewin House!

Beautiful house, perfect hosts, delicious breakfasts and thanks to great local advice spectacular scenery, beaches and walks. My first time to Donegal but can’t wait to return.

What a Super Stay!

Immediately we arrived and stepped inside Frewin House we knew we had made a good choice.  Regina and Thomas are such warm welcoming hosts who obviously love all things beautiful and old and are master collectors.  After a cup of tea outside in gorgeous bone china cups we were shown our beautiful little room with super comfy four poster bed, fireplace, a separate sitting area with old squidgy sofas and decoration throughout so perfect for the house, we just loved everything about Frewin House.  Wonderful hospitality with an amazing breakfast in a large room overlooking more of the garden.  We only had one regret and that was not being able to stay longer.  We will be back for a longer stay when next in Donegal !
