My husband & I stayed at this B&B in July 2018 and we loved it so much we booked to stay again for 3 nights in August this year. When we arrived we were greeted with warmth and kindness by our wonderful host and B&B owner Nuala. We enjoyed tea and homemade scones in the lounge on arrival - a real treat ! Our bedroom was bright clean and sparkling. Breakfast each morning was wonderful .. pancakes to die for...homemade breads..fresh fish .. my personal favorites ! Nuala never seemed to busy to answer our questions and give us information about the local area .You won't be disappointed staying here. Thank you Nuala

Fab B&B

Welcoming, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, Nuala was all of these and more.  We spent three nights at the Western Greenway B&B and were very impressed with not only the accommodations but also with the breakfast.  Nuala made a point of ensuring that we were comfortable and not in need of anything.  She provided coffee and tea making opportunities in the room along with sweets that were replenished daily.  Upon arriving, we were also offered refreshments.  We would certainly choose to stay here again.

Superb service

Had planned to stay here as I saw that they had a room advertised online for €96. 

Rang to confirm the booking as I was looking to stay there that night and wanted to ensure the booking was sorted by speaking to an actual person. When I spoke with the owner she advised that the room was usually €130 but she would honour the online price.

So we agreed I’d stay there the night. A verbal legallly binding contract.

I then got a text from the owner sometime later advising that she now wanted €100 for the room. 

Consequently I took my business elsewhere.

We have travelled extensively over the last twenty years and this B&B is one of the best ever.
We were welcomed by Nuala on arrival with tea and freshly home made cakes. The owners Nuala and Paraic and their son Niall were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They provided information on local drives/attractions even offered to hire bikes for us. They spent time with the guests without being intrusive and were only too delighted to engage with people.
Their home is spotlessly clean and the breakfast menu was very extensive with home make Apple pie as an added bonus. The breakfast itself was delicious (five stars) and arrived on heated plates and was fit for a King.
Our room was very comfortable and Tea/coffee making facilities provided.
The house is only a short walk from the town of Newport itself where you'll find local pubs for evening meals. The house is located very close to the Greenway where we cycled to Achill.
Nuala herself is the driving force behind the B&B. Her passion, commitment and skill is evident in her high standards of both culinary skills and hospitality. It was a pleasure to stay with your family for a few days. We are already looking forward to returning to Western Greenway.
Do not be surprised to see this B&B and/or Nuala herself being awarded a National title for B&B of the Year/ Host of the Year in the foreseeable future. A fitting accolade for an exceptional B&B.

Exceptional B&B - Simply Stunning.

We visit the area to fish and want off safe road parking for a car full of expensive gear. This place is ideal. Nuala is a lovely lady and her breakfasts are excellent. The house is in a very pretty location and really clean. Nuala deserves to be successful and she is very much our preferred hostess.

Great spot

...this is the place to be. I have been in quite some B&B’s at different places all around Ireland and it must be said: the Western Greenway B&B was absolute top: stillness, awesome view on the Nephin Mountains, utmost friendly and helpful lady of the house Nuala , copious and assorted breakfast, comfortable room and interior, conveniently situated... Thank you Nuala for making our vacation such an agreeable one.

When you look for a top-quality B&B...

Western Greenway B&B is absolutely amazing. Facility is spotless clean and well maintained. We were welcomed by Nuala with a cup of tea and the best walnut cake I have ever tasted! The mountain view made our afternoon tea very enjoyable! Breakfast was fantastic - great coffee, delicious homemade bread and tasty freshly cooked food of our choice gave us energy for cycling for good few hours:)
We would truly recommend Western B&B to everyone. Friendliness, hospitality, high quality food and location make this spot absolutely fantastic place to stay!

Excellent place to stay! Very clean, perfectly located facility with amazing food!

Myself and two friends stayed for 3 nights at the Western Greenway B&B in Newport Mayo, while on a salmon fishing break at nearby Lough Beltra.
What an excellent choice it was.
The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished with comfy beds and pillows. There is ample safe parking in the grounds, which is essential with a car full of fishing gear.
There is an excellent choice of menu for breakfast with the room overlooking the beautiful scenery of the area.
Our host Nuala was welcoming, professional and helpful and gave us a feeling of a home away from home.
It's about a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the shops, restaurants and bars.
We dined each evening at the Grainne Uaile bistro bar and would recommend it for food quality and atmosphere.
This was our first time staying at the Western Greenway B&B but it will be our first choice each time we are in the area.
