Very stylish accommodation, spotlessly clean and set in beautiful gardens with a friendly and knowledgeable host who serves a great breakfast. This is a brilliant place to stay if you're looking for somewhere combining old world charm with all the modern facilities.

Highly recommended 

Stayed overnight while attending a wedding in Blairs cove. Not a bit surprised by the wonderful reviews here, every word is true. Felt so welcomed by Ingolf and could have honestly spent days listening to his knowledge of gardening and local history. The house is gorgeous but the garden is absolutely magical. Breakfast was high quality and made more special by some of the produce coming from the garden (try the fennel bread). I would highly recommend the experience of staying in Ballycommane House and it's a great base for exploring beautiful West Cork.

A great place to stay - a great combination of warm Irish hospitality paired with German attention to detail! Breakfast was lovely and the room was spotless. Nice touches like tea and snacks available and a beautiful, welcoming garden to explore. A great place to stay in the area. Highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely

This is my fourth year staying in Ballycommane House & there is one good reason. Everything about a stay here is perfect - from the time you drive in the gate - beautiful flora in the drive & then once parked Ingolf is out to welcome you.
And since Covid there is such a great feeling that everything is done right.
One relaxes immediately & a lovely walk around the garden & sit outside is therapeutic.
Yet again a great option for breakfast. 
Andy as always the food is so fresh - thanks.
To add to the visit if one has an interest in gardening there are so many different plants to see & an option to purchase some which have originated in the Azores.
I know driving away that we will be back again next year for a restful few days.

Another memorable stay

My husband and I spent several days walking the 60-mile Sheep’s Head Bay walk. We were fortunate to stay at Ballycommane House for a night. The house and guest room were beautiful and comfortable. The adjoining gardens are a relaxing marvel and a testament to the work and commitment of the owners. The breakfast was gourmet-level, especially the wide range of cheeses that accompanied our main meals. To top it off, Ingolf and Andy are intelligent, kind, and enthusiastic hosts that can make travel a joy. We felt fortunate to meet both. We could have stayed here a month. Highly recommend. 

Just Wonderful!

After a long day's hiking, we arrived at the beautiful Ballycommane House and Gardens, to be greeted with a very warm welcome. Andy and Ingolf have created a wonderful retreat, with creativity, respect for onsite archaeological artefacts, and great talent. The accomm was comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was stunningly good including figs and various fruit and veg from the garden, local cheeses and home baking. I really felt that they cared about their guests and went far beyond the norm to make us at home. I (and lots of my friends) will be back!!

Warmth and great hospitality

I think it says it all when one returns to a place - and this was my third time staying with Andy & Ingolf - each time a different friend accompanying me - and again so impressed with Ballycommane. This year was going to be different since Covid 19 - however no fear - standards so high and to be fair Ballycommane was Covid prepared prior to its arrival - such space in the breakfast room. The standard of breakfast as hign as ever and so tasty and fresh. Unfortunately thanks to storm Francis did not get to spend time in the garden which is so relaxing to sit it. This hidden gem is a place one must visit and I am already looking forward to my next visit

High Standards always maintained - and that great welcome

I had a wonderful stay in the cottage at Ballycommane house, The gardens are stunning you could spend the day wandering through them spotting all kinds of beautiful plants and trees...The hosts Ingolf and Andy were brilliant and all the measures were taken with  covid and i felt absolutely safe and well away from the problems with it. 
It's a great spot to base yourself  and explore the beauty of West Cork, plenty of good restaurants within a short drive and stunning scenery. 
If you are thinking of spending some time in Cork  i highly  recommend Ballycommane house, i'll definitely be back...

Peace and Tranquility.....

Wow wow and wow. This place is fab. Hidden away up the road from
Durrus is this gem of a B and B. welcoming, spotless, breakfast was amazing ( although I got the feeling that Ingolf was dissappointed he couldn’t put on the usual buffet) set in beautiful gardens. If you are looking for a peaceful get away while giving you the ability to explore west cork look no further!

What a find!

Thank you to Ingolf and Andy for a very comfortable visit to your wonderful B&B.  A fabulous, interesting, relaxing place to stay.  The gardens are amazing, the breakfasts out of this world, but the generosity and enthusiasm of our hosts was what made our stay so special.  Covid measures absolutely tip top.
