Myself and my husband had breakfast Wednesday morning my god the size of the breakfast definitely value for money plus very tasty fantastic scrambled eggs realy fluffy and creamy we were so impressed with the food and the place we came back Saturday night and had a very tasty steak sandwich and the biggest fish and chips I ever saw hardly able to eat it all but it was Devine the staff were so helpful a credit to yous

Beautiful food great staff

Had just arrived to Tramore for a breakaway and my friend and I decided to go out for a meal after a 3 hr journey. We didnt know our way around completely so went to the first restaurant we came across which just so happened to be this one.(wish it hadn't)
  
 From first glance of the outside you'd see this place as any other pub grub establishment but the second you walk through those doors it's like you've entered a community centre on bingo night. Mismatched furniture all around, no music at all and locals sat with tables filled with drink and no sign of any food.(during these covid restrictions)
 
 We were told to sit where we liked so sat down the back. My friends son was crying and our server to give him ice cream.(Not sure was this just being hospitable or just too keep him quiet.) The menu seemed average enough not many vegetarian options and no allergy information. Our server looked after us well but I would say it was to sugarcoat what was to come.

 From first impressions of the place I knew the food wasnt going to be outstanding but nothing prepared me for this. I ordered the catch of the day but what washed up to my table was none the less of a catch.

  The fish itself was cooked on the wrong side and the side it had been cooked on had all charred bits stuck to it as if the pan was manky. We had all had potatoes which were entirely undercooked, lumpy, way underseasoned if seasoned atall. Cabbage and carrots on my plate were lifeless as if they had sat in a pot since that morning. Also the sauce was completely split with curdles. 

 My friend got the brushcetta without pepperoni as it seemed to be the only option. It consisted of half a ciabatta with limp lettuce, few slices of tomatoes and a bit of cheese. Looked pale and just nasty. Honestly anybody would of been able to do a better job with their hands tied behind their backs! 

 Didnt touch the food and paid for it as they clearly needed the money. Avoid this place by all means nessacary there is much nicer restaurants nearby. Hope they can turn it around honestly,a new chef is a good start!!!

Myself and my family had lunch in there Sunday we had beautiful tender beef very tasty plus a very tasty burger and a tasty creamy chowder with plenty of fish plus kids meals very big portion sizes the waiter behind the bar was very helpful great value definitely be back again

Beautiful food

Myself and partner reasonaly eat here while on a break in tramore there was a great buzz in the place the staff were great we had seafood chowder and house salad  plus fresh sole with saute potatoes and the most tender 10 Oz steak my husband has ever eaten perfectly cooked definitely be back here again fantastic food great staff very reasonable priced food

Great atmosphere great food

Don't even know where to start... decided to pop in for a bit of late lunch early dinner with a bit of horse racing, post lockdown staycation! 

Walked in and saw the big screen and thought ahh great, the girl greeted us and we asked how long we had at the table, she said there's no rush at all.

Ordered food and drink, we decided to order starters and asked if she could send the mains in approx an hours time, ofcourse not a problem she said. Soups and chowder to start and 2 fish n chips and lamb roast for main.

The starters came, 2 soups and a chowder, the most blandest food I ever tasted in my life, chowder was like a bowl of thick milky gloop with massive chunks of fish and carrot, even salt and pepper couldnt rescue it, i sent most of it back to the kitchen without saying anything.

The girl advised there would only be a slight delay on the mains but couldn't guarantee it would be an hour as asked, basically you will get it when we say so. Fair enough. Jesus christ when it came!

There was a mountain of frozen chips with a soggy battered piece of bland fish, skin still on, huge tub of mayo on the side, not even a mushy pea... took 2 bites and when the waitress came to ask if everything was OK, I quite politely told her I could not eat the fish as it was just off putting with the skin, the girl was lovely and she took the plate away and asked if there was anything else she could get which I refused so she removed it from the bill.

Anyway another girl came along to take the other plates, at the same time both my mother in law and partner left the table. I told the girl apologies for complaining but my partner also couldn't eat the fish it was just bland and really not pleasant but again sorry for complaining.

A few minutes later a sweaty mess of a chef comes up to the bar obviously disgruntled by my accusations of his food being not nice, when infact it was dirt and i was too polite to say. As the chef leaves the bar the manager shouts, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, dont worry, knowing I could see and hear them, like who are yas fooling. He is obviously one of them chefs like on ramseys hotel nightmares that can't take criticism. 

Paid the bill and left as we were told by the arrogant manager that he wouldn't serve us anymore as our times up and wants the table back, quite rudely, not even a smile out of his miserable face.

Anyway as we left we told a queue full of people how bad the food was and they all walked away :) atleast we saved a few others from sitting in a hovel of a hotel eating crap food. 

Wouldn't even return to that place if the food was offered to me on a silver platter with caviar sprinkled on top! 

Someone give Gordon a buzz there!

Absolutely shocking experience!

Fabulous hotel for such a cheap price everything was perfect couldn’t recommend it anymore will be back again! Very welcoming when we arrived they guy showed us to our room, our room was beautiful and spacious 

Weekend away 

Today we decided to eat here after an exhausting day at the funfair. To say we were happy with our service is more than an understatement!!!! As a family of 8 many would cringe at the end of service but the lovely lady we met could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Usually when eating with small kids it can be a little tricky but this lady was amazing even introducing one of the youngest to the rest of the staff! It is such a breath of fresh air to come across some good old fashioned Irish hospitality. Unfortunately we forgot to get this lady's name but we hope she sees this and knows that she really is gem!! Thank you so very much.

Amazing service!!!

We recently visited Tramore and visited the Hi-B. First day we had a drink to watch the WC game (Fra-Urg) and we're greeted with a lovely Irish warm welcome. Great establishment and venue. 

But it was the following morning when the nicest of touches I've experienced on my travels. We were looking for breakfast and some places we're closed and others did breakfast for guests but when we tried the Hi-B altho finished, the lovely lady owner went out of her way to supply myself my partner and two young girls with a feast of the freshest Irish breakfast finery,even tho they were preparing for a lunch menu.

What a touch. I will be gladly returning and booking into the property too.

Do visit here. 

What a touch

We recently stayed here for a night and we were extremely pleased with this hotel from the moment we checked in. We were greeted by a friendly, helpful and accommodating member of staff who showed us to our room. We immediately recognised the cleanliness of the hotel and noticed the fresh smell throughout. The hotel is also decorated nice and modern. This hotel is conveniently located to the promenade and to the local bus stop if you would like to visit Waterford city. The hotel has a nice bar with live music which was good. We have been visiting Tramore for some time now and would not have found this place only for the bad service we received from another hotel in the past. The owners of this hotel are extremely friendly and down to earth. If you Want a nice hotel for a break in Tramore I suggest you stay at the Hibernian. I also would not focus on these negative reviews they don't do the hotel justice. They offer customers to write in a book about their stay and every comment I read was positive. This hotel is far superior to it's local rivalries both in terms of staff and the quality of the hotel. We will be back. 

Far superior to other surrounding hotels

This is a place, mostly populated by the locals, we were the only "Yanks" in the place. Great craic, every performer (over two nights) was top notch, entertaining and talented. We had a late dinner/early lunch there as well at the bar and it was great.
