Definitely clean and serviceable.  But the youth groups are up late, the buffets of food are careless and poorly tended, and the staff is professional but almost rude in how they deal with you.  We paid for dinner, but somehow weren't on the list-- they interrupted our eating to get a certificate that we had paid mid meal, with no apology for their mistake.  So if you like hostels, this is your place but if you are looking for any hospitality go to the Ein Gedi Hotel

Good if you are a youth group with low expectations

Well, it is hostel, so lets set the expectations right. Having said that, the room was clean, aircon and TV in each room. They have breakfast included.
The whole setup looks very nice and clean, and I do believe they have different room standards.  

Reasonably Good 

Although the hostel is situated close to the road, the rooms were quiet and pleasant.  Rooms are very basic, but clean, and with a fridge and coffee tea, as well as private bath.  Breakfast was very good, but I would pass on the dinner which was only barely edible.  Overall, good value for money and a pleasant stay

We had a very pleasant stay at this place - it kinda justifies the word oasis in the middle of all that desert. The place offers great quality for this price; the rooms are suitable, the showers are clean, the beds are clean, you get an excellent breakfast included (with lots of choice) and so on. It is a very big accommodation, hosting a lot of tourists, so it is also a great place to meet some buddies in the middle of the desert. It is a place that gives you the best experience of a desert hostel, including drying your hair in the evening in the warm desert breeze.

Justifies the word oasis

The Ein Gedi Youth Hostel is a very simple place.  No one with any significant mobility issues could stay here: too many steps.  Very simple dining room without much choice of food, too few dishes, and no spoons available for cereal without asking.  Okay for one night.

Very simple lodging

This place is located right next to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve. The rooms are simple but comfortable with large bathrooms and balconies overlooking the Dead Sea. The breakfast buffet is included and offers a wide variety of typical israeli breakfast food. Nothing special but a solid place to stay while visiting the Dead Sea. 

Great view and food 

We had a very relaxing stay here. We particularly enjoyed the huge buffet dinner and breakfast with varied and tasty food. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and had a great view of the Dead Sea. It was meticulously clean. The bathroom was large and suitable for less able people. The nature reserve is next door and this was extremely beautiful. Masada is also near.
