It's a big old house divided into apartments, I stayed in one of them. It had everything we needed and the guest was very nice and helpful. The location is great, very close to the main bus station and the Damascus Gate of the old city of Jerusalem.

Great location

I stayed in the Studio Apartment which is eequipped with every implement known to man. The Sun of David was at full strength, so I had to cut short the visit. The owner Noma is a super lady. I will return again one day.

A super experience.

This apartment was just what we needed. Very close to the old city, light rail, buses, and shopping on Ben Yehuda street. Could not be more pleased. The suita is suitable for two comfortably, three ok. The cellar is good for up to 5 comfortably, if you cannot do spiral stairs do not book the cellar. Both apartments had everything we needed. A great hideaway from the hustle of the city. We felt very safe and comfortable. Shuttle from the airport put us right at the front door. Internet was exceptional as well, no issues, fast, and dependable.

The location is very good. I found the accommodation a bit expensive.  The apartment was a bit dirty and with mosquitos. It was difficult to find the owner at the day of departure. I would rate it as an average accommodation

Magas House Jerusalem

This studio cottage is clean and well equipped for a budget conscious single traveller. Public transport is convenient with bus stops and the light rail stations very close by. Esy walking distance to the old city, western wall meah shearim, and downtown. The studio is well equipped with all the necessities for a short to medium stay in this amazing city! Comfortable bed, decent kitchenette, adequate shower & toilet facilities. Leading onto a beautiful, peaceful courtyard, with a fragrant and well-tended garden, one feels a million miles away from the hurly-burly of this very busy, frenetic city that never sleeps.

Well positioned, budget, self-catering accommodation for a single traveller in Jerusalem

What more can I say? The little place does exactly what it says on the tin.

Magas house, sits on a lovely quaint quiet street (Heleni HaMalka street) in Musrara, Jerusalem. Having visited Jerusalem in the past I've always known it to be a busy loud place, however the location of Magas house is ideal, in the centre of the city but with the beautiful quietness.

Upon arrival your greeted by a beautiful stone house with a courtyard and a nice garden area where the olive gardens offer shade, which is nice in the hot summer months.

The accommodation it's self is comfortable and basic but it offers you everything you need. However the cleanliness when you arrive is second to none and I could quite literally see my face from the polished stone floors. The one thing I would say is that there is no air conditioning in the house however due to the old stone walls it remains at a comfortable temperature anyway.

It is self catering however for basic food needs there is a small shop opposite the bus stop near the junction of Heleni HaMalka street and Ha-Nevi'im Street. Alternatively you can take a five minute stroll down Ha-Nevi'im street where you will find butchers, green grocers and plenty of other shops en-route to the Damascus Gate of the Old City... YES THATS RIGHT, ITS ONLY 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE OLD CITY.

I sincerely hope everyone gets the chance to visit Jerusalem once in their life time, and I have to admit it takes a lot to beat Magas house for the price, location and comfort that it offers!


Lovely old house in the centre of Jerusalem

Although it can be a bit difficult to get a hold of the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. We showed up a day early and they set us up with a room and didn't make a fuss about our paying later. The rooms are nice and the location is wonderful. There's wonderful bakery and grocer row just a block away. And a couple of blocks to the old city. No need to drive. The kitchenette served our purposes admirably. The only puzzling thing was a missing corkscrew for wine. It was definitely one of the better places we stayed.
