The camplodge is very clean and very comfortable. The cabins are spacious and there are thick mattresses for the guests. The toilets and bathrooms are being cleaned all the time by the friendly staff. Well equipped kitchen is for the guests usage. I would definitely stay there again 

Great place for relaxing near the dead sea 

We stayed in Shkedi's camplodge for two nights. 
GREAT place!!!
The facilities were so convinient, fully equipped kitchen, warm water and comfy lodge.
Gil himself is so hospitable, and the place is so inviting.
Most likely to return again.

One of the best

After a day floating in the super salty Dead Sea at Ein Bokek, I traveled by local bus for about 30 minutes to Neot Hakikar, a moshav  ( cooperative agricultural community of individual farms) in the northern part of the Arava Valley. It was stormy and raining as I arrived and the electricity went out! However, the owner, Gil Shkedi, put tea light candles around the camp lodge and all was fine with a friendly, relaxing atmosphere. I was glad circumstances disconnected me from internet access for a day. It was great to rest and read. The hospitality was warm with a good kitchen, bar, and common area with a share library. After a good night's sleep, the sun came up brightly and I loved my morning walk in the desert like landscape with views to beautiful Judaean Hills. 

Quietude on the Edge of the Desert

It's a spectacular location, every time we come to Israel Shkedi's Camplodge is a must-see stopover. Very nice to all staff members. You can book tours of the desert with their jeep. You can shop at the market inside the village and cook at the camp. Very suitable if you're traveling in groups or families with children. Close to the Dead Sea only 20 minutes by car.

It acomodates everything you need including a well equiped kitchen.
Good music and very close to location around the dead sea.
Even the kids managed to stay nice and calm.

We stayed 1 night only at this hostel and I regretted it... I would have stayed so much longer! I loooved it! Decor is crazy beautiful. A little like Burning Man Festival kind of art everywhere. Hammocks, campfire, trees, sofas, fully furnished kitchen, cats and dogs wandering everywhere. Everything was great! We were there in october and it was totally empty. We were us 2 and the host. So no much ambiance. But I'm sure that during high season it would be a lot of fun. If you go to the dead sea, you MUST go to Shkedi's Camplodge!

Most beautiful hostel I've ever seen

It's a fabulous experience in this kibbutz on the Jordan border. It's very welcoming, guests are instantly friendly. It's a large kitchen and very comfortable beds.

Sleeping in huts in a kibbutz

The place is charming, with beautiful houses and welcoming common areas. When we were there we were the only guests, so we couldn't experience the atmosphere of sharing. The background music is beautiful and makes the atmosphere very relaxing. The problem unfortunately is the flies, which in the evening and night were already annoying, the morning breakfast intolerable. We realize that this aspect is not the fault of the managers, but we feel that it can make it difficult to stay. At some point in the night we even woke up to the noise of a mouse entering our suitcase that crushed the nuts.

It's a nice place, but with a bit of trouble.

A corner of peace, sharing, joy, simplicity. Simple, cozy and clean rooms, smiling faces, an atmosphere of serenity. Chatting with the managers and guests of the Camplodge is the salt of staying in this unique place, away from dissidents, crowds, religious trademarks, divisions. The central fire brings everyone together, the background music relaxes, you rest and reconcile with the world. We arrived with nothing to eat and in a couple of hours our refrigerator filled up mysteriously more than Rome.

A Corner of Peace in the Land of Tensions

Small campsite + 2 small wooden cabins/rooms with air conditioning, comfortable beds and clean sheets. One would think it was the 60s/70s! Bob Marley and Dylan at the sound of the bar. Greenhouse arches are arranged like nomadic tents, incense burns above the toilet doors, common kitchen equipped, a huge tent/lounge full of recovered chairs and sofas, barbecues everywhere and large tables available. A large fire burns in the evening in a dome....
