We had been on a trip to the sound and light show on the other side of the mountain and wanted to stay in the area. The rooms are really designed for families and can sleep 5. 
The toilet and bathroom are separate so both can be in use and there are two sinks for brushing teeth etc.
There is a fridge in each room and the rooms are clean. There are plenty of USB points for charging devices.
The food in the dining room is not fancy, it is a glorified youth hostel after all, but it is perfectly adequate.
The outdoor pool is very nice and the location is perfect for a trip to the dead sea or a visit to Masada.
The front desk staff were very helpful.

Masada Youth hostel/hotel

Ideally located with a beautiful view, welcoming and helpful staff, large swimming pool, very complete (and sometimes strange) buffets, clean and simple rooms.

Good hotel but a tad overpriced.
The rooms are okay.
The bathroom is well equipped.
The food is good and has a variety to it.
The location is great to visit Masada and at a few minutes ride to the Dead Sea.


Single hotel in the desert

It is ideally located at the foot of the national park, right next to the funicular and the exit of the road to the plateau. However, the site is also very well served by public buses and I strongly advise you to rent a room either in Ein Gedi or in Ein Bokek and take a bus and go back and forth during the day, which is largely feasible. It takes 3/4 hours to make the climb. The rooms are exquisite. At night our hotel had a window that looked out on the front wall. So even in broad daylight, even with a sunshine outside, you are forced to turn on the light. Very average performance for the price

Pros: The location is perfect for an (early) exploration of Masada, is clean, has an extensive breakfast offer and great views of the Dead Sea and the moon-like landscape around it.

Pros and cons

We came for a visit to the great area of the dead Sea. It was our first stay in a hostel and it was a great experience. The building is accessible. The rooms are big and clean and breakfast was great .

Great for families with children

The only protected place in a hostile environment in the high summer. The small pool is a blessing and a popular meeting place. The hostel is neat, modern and well-equipped and the perfect starting point for a morning morning massada hike - for breakfast we were back downstairs. Many youth groups here.

Modern oasis

It is a very charming establishment. Very expensive for the services offered. It is not particularly comfortable (very hard). It is a really average dining room. It is a good breakfast. The main advantage of this hotel is the proximity to the exit of the path to the summit of Masada for sunrise.

Correct

Avoid having dinner here. It's just not worth it.
Also having to pay full hotel price for bunk beds that smell like a bedwetter has slept there before... Sorry, but if it wasn't for being able to walk up to Massada for sunrise (which btw is absolutely breath-taking) there there is no reason for staying there. 

A regular youth-hostel with hotel pricing

We had planned two nights in this hostel because we wanted to see the reserve of Ein Gedi, go to the Dead Sea and see the dawn from the fortification of Masada. In the end we had to stay only one night because it was Shabbat and there was no transportation to get out of there and we wanted to go to the inn so that we could cross the border on the day we wanted. The hotel staff made it very easy for us and even returned us the money for one night. The hostel is very dignified, with good breakfast, spacious rooms and a swimming pool that is a blessed glory in the midst of as much heat as it does there. The location is nice if you want to do the usual activities but it is in a very lonely area and you need to take transportation. There are also no restaurants to choose from. There is only one to 5 minutes with high price.
