This is a cool place,  very special atmosphere. Located in Jaffa,  right in the middle of everything.  2 minutes walk from the beach,  from the flee market,  pubs,  restaurants,  street food.  1 minute from the grocery store (there's a kitchen at the hostel) and from public transportation. Currently they serve for more long-term population.

Location location location

The postel is not an hotel : its a community place. When you arrive, you are feeling responsible of this beautiful house. Somebody wrote your name on the board and visiting the building to find your room is a real pleasure. You pass through the rooftop, the garden, the 2 kitchens, the lot of bathrooms, the big basement and only found cool people. Some are residents, some are backpackers but all are chill and welcoming. I really loved the concept! Rooms and common facilities are super clean, the location in Jaffa at 5 min by walk of the beach is perfect! A real coup de coeur if you are not looking for "all inclusive" kind hotel.

Very special vibe! 
The self check-in system is super easy and if you're having issues finding something, there's always someone around to help you out. Most of the people living in the Postel are long-term guests, which gives the place a more communal living atmosphere than a hostel feeling. They welcome you into their community + gave us helpful tips on how to get around. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the whole house has an arty touch. Loved it! <3

Great vibe, nice people and a very cool place!

It was a good choice i changed my hostel in Tel Aviv, and came to the Postel, the people nice here and really helpful , and you have air condition and own room, privacy if you want and its cheap option in Tel Aviv. The owner and management always developement the place. If you use the what app contact that's the best option to communicate with the management, because they have self reception. Other good thing really close to the beach and the food places is in Jaffa really beautiful old authentic place in Tel Aviv.

Postel

The hostel was great, it was exactly what we expected. There was a lot of attention to detail which was great. The self check in was very efficient, the organised trips/tours and availability of maps and information was great. Everyone was very friendly. The location was perfect, less than a 10minute walk to the beach and Jaffa old town.

The only criticism is that a group of people stood outside pour window talking until 3am in the morning, it didn't bother me one bit, but my husband found it difficult to sleep through it. Just a bit of bad luck really, everything else was great.

Perfect location

You should be aware that this is more a student housing that rents rooms than a proper hostel.
Ths location is perfect, near old town jaffa with lots of restaurants bars and close to the beach.
There is no reception nor much travelers, mainly just residents. You get a phone number to contact if you need anything.
There is a lot of noise at night (first night we stayed up until 4 am, other nights until 1am). The bathrooms have an acceptable cleanliness level, the common areas are on the dirty side. The room itself is simple, with air conditioning, small window, but it does need some deep cleaning and painting of the walls that are pealing off. The sheets had stains which made us ask for new clean ones that they quickly provided. However management should spend some $ in renovating the sheets and blankets as they are pretty old and with stains of use.
There are cats wondering around the house too. But for us this wasnt an issue.
All and all be aware that it does not look as nice and cool as in the pictures, it looks old and beaten, it is not the cleanest place out there, but the location is perfect, wifi is good, and it makes a reasonable price regarding all the offers around town


more frat house than hostel

First of all: location is great! beach and Jaffa only two steps away. The hostel is not at all as shown on the pictures! First night (of 2) we havent sleept bcs of the noise inside and outside the hostel. I guess some will like the place but i m sure there is better value for money nearby!

i wouldnt go again 

Put your hand far away from there, the best to  pay more money,  and don’t get there !!!!
 No body answer you when you need something .
To laud , unclean .
People are nice but to laud .
I would not recommend on there .
The are showing very bad face when you get there At the end .

Feedback

super dirty, super noise , the pictures definitely do not match the reality.  But the worst thing is that the managers ruthlessly exploit young people.  The post is inhumane and should be banned!
You can definitely live much cheaper and much nicer in Tel Aviv.

Student

It's a slum. The owners should be embarrassed. I paid for 2 nights and left after seeing the room. They don't paint the walls. The beds are from the last century. There are no real locks on the doors and it's expensive for what you get.
