We were delighted with the quality, comfort and service within the hotel, clearly the most prestigious in the area. 
The only downside was the closing of the sun terrace due to the fact it was the end of the season. 
Beyond this the hotel and restaurant were great, breakfast choices were very good. 
We ate at the restaurant one evening having a most excellent tasting menu. 

Lovely hotel - highly recommended 

First time visiting Sicily and the hotel reception/reservations for very nice in preparing my room for an early check-in and hotel/airport transfers. Unfortunately, after specifically asking for a quiet room, they gave me a nice room, but over a very  loud bar that plays loud music until 12 in the morning. Being very tired my first day, unable to take a nap and the 3 nights, impossible to go to sleep before 12:30 in the morning making it difficult to get up at 6:30 am to go on excursions, too tired to really enjoy. The reception called the bar to lower the music and they just put it louder. There were only 4 people in the bar and they still played the music extremely loud. 
Another misinformation is reception specified that it would be about 20 minutes and €30 for a taxi each way to Catania, which wasn't the case. The morning transfer could take over an hour because of traffic and cost up to €70, so I spent a lot more money on taxis than expected. 
There was also a lot of mold on the shower doors, holes in the towels and marks on the walls/curtains. 
I didn't eat at the restaurant because I didn't really like the touristy menu and the restaurants up the street. 5 minute walk, were really good and less expensive (fresh fish, catch of the day).
Overall nice hotel, but maybe for a night on the way to somewhere, not a long term stay in you need to go to Catania for excursions, most companies won't pick up at the hotel (didn't know that either). Parking is also an issue, reason for not renting a car. Otherwise, great time visiting Sicily!

Moder Hotel facing the sea offered good service. Our room was comfortable with everything you need to have for couple of nights. Very good service at the Hotel Bar. Interesting interior, quite modern style. Perfect location.

A Hotel at the Sea

The hotel staff was very helpful and they solve all of our questions, they always smile and they make a good mood there. Thank you for the help here again. 

The room was comfortable, clean and modern. We ask a sea view room and we had an amazing view of the rocks. I could imagine a water heater, tea and coffee facilities to every room, not only the deluxe room. The airconditioning is loud a little but it's ok. 

The selection at the breakfast is not huge, but enough. Everybody must find something to eat. 

The waterfront location is fantastic, it's good to see the sea in the morning, in the night and after you swim in the sea you just go in to the hotel. 

For me the only disturbing thing is the bar at the neighborhood (it's not the mistake of the hotel), because it was very loud until 1-2 am. I understand that it's a holiday but it was hard to fall asleep for me.

So this is a review of the amazing bar within the Hotel. The Bar is called Itaca. What a wonderful surprise! I dont speak Italian but they made me feel very welcome. Starting with their help with choosing the right wine to surprising me with mind blasting sushi! Both Gionathon and Alfredo Aniello were amazing hosts. Ready to slap you awake with a extravaganza of food and drink. Let them tantalize your tastebuds and salaciously rangle your mind. If they can’t do it no will!!! BOOMBOOM!!!

I cannot praise this Hotel enough. The situation right on the seafront is amazing. The bedrooms and public areas are immaculate, just like it had opened the day before (which it hadn't) it has been fairly recently refurbished. 
The staff were very accommodating and helpful and the rooms were cleaned very well every day.
This really should be 5 star for style and comfort. Well done.

Wonderful

Room too little. It was awful. No shelf in bathroom to put our items. Our creams etc were on the desk near tv !!!!!

We asked the woman at reception but she did nothing! It was really disappointing. We explained but no arrangement !

The first day we lost a lot of time. Safe lock box was broken. Technician came many times. We must move in an other room !!!!

Room too little

Very beautiful location. The food ( we took only seafood) was high quality. You can see in the pictures how it was served. 
The staff is also very gentile. We book it by the fork and with discount the prices are pretty good. 


Beautiful location 

Positives:
We travelled to Aci Trezza specifically for the swordfish festival and chose this hotel for its proximity to the harbour and to the town centre.  The location was very good.

Negatives:
This hotel has seen better days. Somehow it has brushed up quite well for the photos displayed on Tripadvisor, but the reality is that it is faded, ageing and in need of some TLC.  Quite a lot of TLC, really.  I suspect that it was the place to be and to be seen in the 1950s and 1960s, but it really is past its sell-by date now.  

We are puzzled by the photos of a rather inviting looking terrace (with white umbrellas and white furniture)  in the photoset on Tripadvisor. We were shown no such place and we found no such place. There was a sun terrace (which the receptionist seemed rather proud of) at the front beneath the circular storeys of the building, but this was unremarkable.  

We are also puzzled by the photos of smart rooms with smart furniture. They do not suggest the reality, which was much more Travelodge than Riviera.

Breakfast had to be taken in a room in a building next door (which may or may not have been part of the hotel), which inevitably felt like a bit of a let down.  Like a couple of other hotels we stayed in, it was disappointing to be faced with an urn of very un-Italian coffee rather than a fresh brew of espresso.

Staffing was inadequate.  There was usually only one person on duty at reception and inevitably two guests to be kept happy!

The restaurant next door (to the east) which features prominently in one of the photos offers loud and continuous music until late at night.  This is of course not the hotel's fault, and probably difficult to address, but I suspect this is a permanent feature.  

Maybe we were naive expecting the possibility of a quiet room in a busy seaside coastal town, but be prepared!
