My partner and I stayed at Villa Pirandello for two nights in October 2016. Pirandello's home and gardens are set below street level, and, as described in other reviews, are accessed via a ramp from the street. The climb was, however, no problem, and, in fact, accentuated the privacy of the setting of the Villa.The B&B is accessed through the garden, and is set into the ground floor of Pirandello's home. The rooms open directly onto an outdoor terrace, with views of yet another garden, and comfortable seating. The room was very comfortable and well appointed, and extremely quiet. Breakfast was served on the veranda of the attached restaurant, and, while simple, was delicious and completely satisfying.  Alessio was a very gracious and welcoming host, and we envy him his beautiful office cut into the Agrigento rock.
The B&B is located just a short walk from the train station, and is an easy walk into the center of the town. Importantly, it is on the bus route heading to and from the Valley of the Temples, and was a welcome retreat after a long day at the archeological site.
We look forward to revisiting Sicily, Agrigento, and the Villa Pirandello.

A Wonderful Stay in the Great Playwright's Home

We stayed here for 3 nights. Came from Marsala on the bus so it was a 5 minute walk downhill all the way from the bus station.  Alessio (the manager) emailed us before our arrival asking our arrival time which was nice.  He also gave us some directions.  It is a very steep slope down to the Villa from the street - the pathway down is just beside the petrol pumps on the main road - but we were helped up when we left.  Breakfast was very nice and served on the terrace outside our room.  Lovely to be on the ground floor - we both smoke so easy to pop out.  Yes the room was dark when the curtains were pulled but we weren't there to languish in the room when there were Greek temples to be visited.  The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning was controlled by a remote handset and worked brilliantly.  The bathroom was small but adequate for our 3 night stay.  The bus stop for the bus to the Valley of the Temples is about 50 metres up the road.  The central train station is just behind the bus stop so about 5 minutes walk from the Villa to the train station.  We caught the train back to Palermo.  We would definitely recommend this as somewhere to stay in Agrigento as it is in a very convenient position for transport, restaurants and the old town.

Loved it - great location near the railway station

We are a family of 4 adults and stayed in a quad room.
The hotel is a bit tricky to locate, use google maps (still hard to find). Its right behind the Petrol / gas station (2 petrol pumps on side of road). This is the land mark you need to keep an eye out for, you find this you find hotel. The hotel is down a steep embankment below the road (keep an eye out for the hotel signs). Hotel is on the ground floor of an apartment block and comprises 4 rooms. The hotel grounds are superb & there is a restaurant located in the same complex, but not part of the hotel. The room are quite nice, a good size with reasonably comfortable beds. the bathroom is quite modern, no bathtub, just a shower. Room and bathroom were very clean and well presented.
The only problem we had was that there was no water the next morning when we got up (I have seen this has been a problem with other reviewers), once reported to the owner, he came promptly and had water problem repaired within 20 minutes.
The breakfast provided was ok and was served outside. It comprised coffee or tea, croissant,a small roll with ham, a small plate of fruit and some dry prepackaged toast. I would have liked a bit more. Overall a nice place to stay, I would stay there again if I had the chance to.

Hotel where water does not flow sometimes

Yes, it was difficult to find, but that's par for the course in Sicily where road signs are very hit and miss.
 
The gardens are delightful and I really enjoyed strolling through them. Our welcome from Alessio was a pleasure and nothing was too much trouble.

The breakfast on the terrace was most enjoyable, as was the meal we had one evening in the restaurant.

Our room faced south, onto the garden. However it still managed to be dark and this was not helped by the strange purple decoration. The bed was poor and the bed linen cheap and rough. We stayed two days and I don't think the bathroom was cleaned while we were there. Just a bit more money spent would make all the difference.

It was well situated for visiting the old centre of Agrigento and for driving to the Valley of the Temples. There is a lot of parking nearby, though you have to pay, but not much compared to parking in our towns and cities.

Room dark and bed uncomfortable 

Stayed 2 nights while visiting the temples. Convenient location for town but parking is a challenge. Bed was a little too hard for us. Restaurant on site was really good. Got good directions from Allesio to get to the temples.
