The car's GPs didn’t recognise the address given on our booking, Via Dante not being found at all.
But when I looked at google maps I found Corso Dante Alighieri, and we assumed that was it. Then too the built-in GPS would not accept No 91 but kept substituting 90, and we figured that would be close enough.

And it panned out just fine. The buildings in the street are clearly numbered, so 91 was easy to find, and out hostess had coned a parking space for us to unload from.

Silvia was utterly charming and delightful. The welcome was warm and personal and the check-in process easy. In no time we were putting our bags into the fantastic apartment, and a few minutes later I moved the car to our allocated space on the premises. We stayed two nights but we didn't need to move the car at all, walking everywhere.

The apartment was one small flight of wide stairs up from the ground floor, and looked brand new.

It is a very large one bedroom apartment with a massive master bedroom. The main bed is superking sized, very welcome for me at 196cm tall, and very comfortable (if a bit firm).

There’s a sofa in the room that would easily accommodate a child as is, or would fold out into a wide double. There’s another in the lounge. So potentially the apartment could accommodate 6 people, if they’re prepared to share one excellent bathroom.

The living area has the aforementioned couch, wide enough to seat three, plus a dining table with 6 chairs, and a well-equipped kitchen. A microwave, a full oven, a benchtop hob, a dishwasher, a washing machine for clothes, a coffee machine, a full fridge/freezer.

There’s a small balcony with a small table and two chairs. The ceilings are high, the windows large and openable. Fresh décor, central position, quiet. Very safe and secure.

I could go on listing the good elements.

What about the bad points?

I can’t think of one.

They proudly display a booking.com customer service award for 9.4 points. I don’t agree. I couldn’t rate it less than 10.

Alassio is a gorgeous town on the Italian Riviera, and Residence San Marco is a fantastic place from which to explore the region.

a Perfect 10 for sure

This was a really good value studio apartment in Alassio.  The room had everything we needed, was immaculately clean and was close to the beach, shops, restaurants.  Parking is available for a fee.   Internet is available in the public areas but  patchy in the rooms.  The welcome we received from Andrea was absolutely fantastic.   The weather was very warm indeed so we needed to sleep with windows open and it is a little noisy at night.  Overall however it was a very good stay and we would certainly stop by again when in Alassio.

Close to beach, restaurants.  Very friendly, perfectly clean, excellent value.

Great location near the beach and centrum. Friendly staff, good kitchen. Wifi works fine in public areas but would be better to work also in all rooms. No air-condition. Overall good selection to visit with family.

Family resort on Alassio

Looking for a Residence in Alassio to spend a week with friends I jumped into San-Marco. The position is very good, close to beaches and city center (you just have to park your car somewhere... with a lot of patience or with a fee following residence suggestions). However the apartment was very basic, with old furnitures and a basic kitchen (only one microwave in the ground floor for the whole residence!). Moreover the beds were not comfortable and, due to the hot 2015 summer and the absence of air conditioning, the room was incredibly hot and noisy as we were obliged to sleep with open windows (in the front square every night many trucks discarded the waste bins!).
An average resort at a price a bit overvalued (at the end you pay just for the position!).

Residence in a good position.

12 days before me and my three kids were going here, the staff cancelled my booking. Probably because I ordered many months ago, for a «good price». They sold it in a minute to someone else. They blamed the c-card, but it works perfect with all other bookings. Shame on you!!! :((((
