The room itself was clean and spacious, but it didn't have air conditioning, as they say, but it was a malfunctioning, super noisy penguin.

Positive accommodation, spacious and clean room, kitchen and everything necessary, friendly and available, good price-quality in the downtown area, 2 steps from the city centre and the port.

Essential and clean

Clean room structure a little dated location great two steps from the center the owner cares about the reviews after an exchange of views for a parking lot I kept telling you that maybe it would be better to focus on some negative points to improve the structure you see the climate very noisy the shower that doesn't close well the sliding shower blows pretty clogged little things that definitely make a difference

Just a little bit.

I had booked and paid a quadruple for myself and my friends. When you arrive at the residence at 9 o'clock, because the ferry is late, I find everything closed. I call the number on the door and the owner answers me saying that he couldn't help us because the reception closes at 8:30 p.m.

Shame on you.

The bathroom is full of mold on the walls and tiles. The thermosphones are rusty to get the tetanus, the windows are scarded and they didn't even close and the bottom is very noisy. Also, it's marked that there's a parking lot but it's a mockery. They give you the ticket to pay 3€ a day in the blue parking lots in the area....but it's in the center!! And I recommend you find a parking lot!! It's not worth half the money they ask for. Finally we paid on arrival with the excuse that we wouldn't have met to weld again since it was a residence but then every morning who was due was at the reception.... seeing the dirt of the room I made an excuse if I didn't avoid it after these people were seen!!

Booked via hotels.com I show up at 7.30 and find the reception closed... THE SITE SAYS CHOOLES at 8.00!!! I call the number written on the door and the owner tells me that before there was no reservation (as long as they climbed 70€ from the credit card) then climbing on the mirrors he starts telling me that he is out of office and can't come to open me!!!

The management changes rate as they please after booking. They keep sending threatening emails that they will cancel your stay if you don’t accept their new rates.
I think as the demand gets higher they try to get rid of the reservations they had offered previously to increase their revenue.

Do not trust management

The photos on the site are much better than the real apartments themselves. Very dirty furniture, the bathroom batteries haven't been washed for many months (a thick layer of dust). All the walls are covered in the rooms.

Not a comfortable hotel.

The Vanvitella is about 5 minutes walk away from the town centre and 2 minutes from the port. We stayed there to investigate Ancona and surrounding towns and couldn't have chosen better. The apartment, which is really just one room plus bathroom, was decently furnished with good cooking facilities. It was a large room and the bed was good and the bathroom was very good. There was little in the way of character but as a place to call home for a week it had all we needed. The road up to the Cathedral and the Archeological Museum ran close by and both are very much worth seeing. The hike to the Cathedral is fairly strenuous but ok if you are in decent shape. There is a bus that runs up the same road, number 7 I think, but we never saw it.

The owner is friendly and helpful and as long as he knows when you are arriving he will be there waiting. There are bikes to borrow and decent free wi-if. Highly recommended for independent travellers.

What it lacks in character it makes up for in every other way

Like Gerard44260's advice, arrived around 8pm (closing at 9pm) person, all closed probably left to celebrate Christmas with family by leaving a customer outside while the villa was almost deserted... what to say except to be disappointed myself who was pleased to rest in this place after a long trip, I am very disappointed by the lack of professionalism of some... do they not know that we give our opinions which many customers rely on in their choice of a stay? too late for them, the wrong is done! I got a little drenched in the hotel NH which welcomed me very well and whose breakfast was very copious and varied! So personally go your way... unless you liked it!
