In one word - brilliant! We booked this on the internet thinking it was in Tivoli ..... drove around Tivoli getting lost, finally asking some kind stranger directions, who said "It is 28 kilometres in that direction". WTF? We had hired a car and the drive through the countryside was stunning ... ruined Roman arches, aquaducts, farmhouses and wildflowers. Then, on our approach, we saw a very tall hill and there was a town on top ... and guess where the hotel was? Yep on the top. A medieval stone hill town with piazza and fountain. We had to ask directions again (the hotel is a little hard to find) ... and you can't drive a car through the narrow, cobbled streets (paths really). Once we found it, Luigi the friendly hotel manager, helped us with our luggage, booked us dinner at the local restaurant and was happy to answer all our questions. He also provided us with a large bottle of water each on the house.

The hotel is a renovated former palazzo with the most amazing views over the valley/s and surrounding hill towns. The hotel sits on the edge of the hill and sitting in the window alcove in your room is like sitting on the edge of a precipice! The view at night is incredibly pretty, with the other hill towns all lit up like your own private light show.

The town itself is extremely interesting .... and a little creepy .... they don't get too many tourists there (esp from Australia) and when we sat down in said piazza for drinks before dinner we were the talk of the town!  No one was unfriendly .. just a little shy. Anticoli Corrado abuts the Apennine mountains and we noticed another village in ruins across what looked to be a waterfall and river. We found a bridge crossing and walked across before dusk before our dinner booking. Ruins everywhere, waterfalls cascading down, trails leading into the wilderness of the Apennines and what looked to be a Roman or at least medieval marble fountain and trough. Then we got spooked and it felt like someone was watching us. Dusk was approaching. The feeling returned and got stronger. We couldn't see anyone and no one was around to see us. Time to go! Walking back along track named the "Via Gorgone" would you believe! Next morning we asked Luigi were there any wild wolves left in Italy. "Around here?" he replied "They've been gone for years, but funny you should ask, one of the villagers saw one just a couple of months ago."  So, go, do, because the hotel and the town are simply wonderful, BUT DON'T WALK OVER THE OTHER SIDE AT DUSK!

Amazing place to stay! Very tidy, cozy and welcome.
I was so happy to enjoy that amazing view through the window in the morning. Thought: I have woke up in the skies. Clouds were just lying down the hill and birds were flying up to the sunny sky above.

Very nice calm place outside the city of Rome. It's a very nice, clean hotel, perfect to pass some days of relax. We were helped by a very kind person at the reception that gave us great indications. Would suggest this hotel to couples and families.

Very nice place

Tranquillity and affordability are the hotel's main attractives. The distance from Rome is considerable; given the amount of traffic to and from the city I believe it can take a while to get there and get out; on the other hand, knowing the price and quality of accommodation in Rome, it might be a good choice (if you don't mind sitting in your car). Certainly it's an excellent base for visiting Tivoli and the area to the east of Rome. The building, in the older part of the village, has been nicely renovated; rooms are very basic but big, relatively clean, with a nice view. The owner is very kind and helpful and the (Italian) breakfast was alright.

Kindness and tranquillity at a fair price.

we had heard about this town and decided to get a prezzo felice offer.i had explained our health issues and we were told we could use an elevator from the easier side entrance.when we arrived,however,we had to lug the luggage up steep winding steps then there was an elevator from the 1st to the 3rd floor..the women who run it are leaving and that very day were waiting for the moving van.the welcome was not that friendly,to say the least.the room was large and had 3 windows with breath-taking views.several lights didn't work,the bathroom fan didn't workthe mini fridge was not clean.the bed was very comfortable and it was blissfully quiet.the breakfast didn't live up to my expectations.there were cornetti but aside from that there was only melba toast and mediocre jam packets.the restaurant was closed,too.the building is beautiful,the town has an excellent museum of modern art,the surroundings are lovely so i do want to come back but it depends on the changes.the last day the host was friendly.
