We were in the seventh and they arranged for us all to settle together on the first floor: each room had its own bathroom and in addition we had the kitchen and the terrace overlooking Assisi, where, most of the evening, we had a fantastic view. Whenever we went to Umbria we would stay alone and exclusively with them. The Taranto group!

A highly recommended position!

Great reception from the owners. Large, neat and clean rooms. Great attention to covid standards. In addition to the overnight stay we had the local kitchen, a large terrace overlooking the Basilica and the garden.

Two steps from Assisi

Last night we stayed at this hotel and were greeted as if we were at home by the kindness and willingness of Mrs. Giuliana and Mr. Luigi. The room was very cozy and clean. It was a pity that we only stayed for a short time because the outside lends itself to being lived for beautiful grills in company. We will definitely return.

Like at home.

Stayed three nights, the owners Luigi and Giuliana are two very special people, we felt at home. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

Super welcome, Giuliana and Luigi two delicious, kind, available and not at all invasive people!!! The apartment where we stayed, was clean, comfortable, and with all the comforts. It has a large green area where children can play in peace. Giuliana as a welcome gave us a cake made with their really good organic flour!!! My children found themselves very well no longer wanting to come away and they bought a new grandmother in Rivotorto 😊The farmhouse is strategically located x can visit all of Umbria!! SUPER CONSICLIATIVE

It's a wonderful place and a warm welcome. It's ideal for spending a few days in total tranquility. It offers very nice and well-kept rooms, but above all clean.

It's excellent.

I only stayed one night, but we were great, we were a couple and three friends, we slept upstairs, overlooking Assisi. Really beautiful. Excellent accommodation. I highly recommend it, for those looking for tranquility, comfort and cleanliness.

I was in Assisi on September 3rd and I stayed in this structure it was very good, very friendly the owners too bad you don 't speak German delicious breakfast, I think the breakfast was made with homemade products.

“Il Tugurio” is located in Rivotorto, near of Assissi (5 minutes by car) and has a beautiful view on the Basilica of San Francesco. We’ve been in “Tugurio” already 3 times (August 2004, May 2010 and  May 2013) and always we found a very good hospitality. 

Donna Giugliana and Signore Luigi are very opened and supporting people. They will give you always very good suggestions regarding touristic targets (i.e. we visited Spello,  a very nice historic village near of Assissi (Spello e bello!) or citta Montefalco with its nice city center, very good for small walk and shopping) or they will recommend you Italian specialities of cuccina italiana or where to buy any products and not to overpay. They will always help you.

Signore Luigi is also a specialist of olive oil. He buys from his well-known agricultures in Umbria  olives  and lets to produce the extra oil of them. This olive oil is excellent and we buy always at least 10 l of this “olio extra vergine” for our own purposes and for our friends who insists always to buy this oil form them.

The hospitality conditions are simple but comfortable it is absolutely enough for tourists. Nice large rooms with kitchen and your own bath room. Some of this rooms have a balcony with a nice view of Basilica di San Francesco. If you like you can also eat your dinner or supper in the small garden enjoying fresh air and birds singing.

You can find “Il Tugurio” very easily because it is located directly near of the church Santuario di Santa Maria  in Rivotorto. This is also a very interesting church because also here worked San Francesco with his brothers and even prepared here his important work “Order (La regola) for his confraters”.

We recommend “Il Tugurio” for pilgrims, family with children but also for simple  tourists. You have here a quiet, nice and comfortable place for rest and very familiar and supporting owners. And all this very near of a beautiful Assissi.
