This is just what its name suggests;  a pool of calm and peace.  L'Oasi is  off the beaten track, yet only a couple of miles from Assisi with its wealth of  rose coloured winding streets, ancient churches, civic  squares and medieval towers. After spending time sight seeing in the heat of the sun, come home to  this  mountainside
paradise set below shady woods and enjoy the cool and peace of the swimming pool, overlooking spectacular Umbrian rolling hills, fields and woodland. 
The old  farmhouse buildings are divided into apartments, and the home of the  generous  owners, for whom nothing is too much trouble. (We were welcomed with a large home made Italian cake on our kitchen table.) The rooms are simply and rustically furnished, with clean comfortable beds and individual  shower and bathroom facilities.  Outside are several terraced eating areas  -each offering a different view over the Umbrian countryside and flanked with lavender, hydrangers and olive trees. Watch the sun go down with a glass of local wine, and see the twinkling lights of the scattered hillside farms start to  appear. 
This was our third visit here and it was as captivating as ever.

L'Oasi- be refreshed

A short distance - perhaps 10 min.- from the old (upper) town of Assisi via a pleasant drive through a forest, this remodeled large stone farmhouse is located on a hill with every vista a potential work of art. Owned and managed by a lovely and welcoming lady and her family, it's a perfect location for relaxing in the Umbrian countryside and still being close by the sights and sounds of Assisi and Santa Maria degi angeli. We had a spotless and sunny 2 br/2 ba apartment with a kitchen/sitting area and two patios with tables and chairs - one at the front, and one at the kitchen door. Our visit was during the festival weekend of St. Francis, so even though we found  the TV didn't work well, there was an assortment of nearby activities and performances, informational brochures and guides, books in various languages and  playful  kittens that kept us very busy! The nearest supermercato is in Santa Maria, but there are smaller food stores in Assisi, and lots of fresh herbs growing on the property. Note that if you'd like to turn on the heat, it's an extra charge, but there was lots of hot water, extra pillows and quilts.
