This lodging is beautifully maintained, serene and restful;   it is very near Montella, which is where i went to visit family, but it  was worth it to get lodging just outside of town. the parking within the gated courtyard was fantastic, as parking in town is difficult. The view from our window/ balcony was pure rural heaven;  no concrete buildings to our left / right  front or back to block the view;  just beautiful mist covered rolling hills, verdant pastures and the surrounding gardens; a delight for the senses - fresh country air and flocks grazing .  it was like a secret hideaway yet close enough to access Montella .....Rooms are spacious and comfortable;  all my family easily  fit in one room which overlooked the garden below. Driving along the country lane between il Papavero and Montella  was an adventure in itself and the staff are a wonderful couple,who make you feel like a part of the family.   Bellissimo!

Idillico!

We stayed at Papavero for 2 night while in Bagnoli Irpino visiting relatives.  Maria Luigia and Antonio and their 2 sons were wonderful hosts and a lovely (and friendly) family. The rooms were very nicely decorated with a large balcony.  The breakfast was a very nice spread even through we (along with another couple) were the only guests those nights.  The B&B (like most of Bagnoli Irpino) does not have air conditioning and the nights are cool so it should not be a problem.  The family room we stayed in had a double door to the balcony and 3 other windows but only 1 of the windows had screens.  There were a lot of bugs so we had to keep all of the other windows closed and the room got very hot at night. I would loved to have been able to keep all the windows open for cross ventilation. I highly recommend Papavero.

Lovely B&B

From 16 October to 19 October, we had the pleasure of staying at Il Papavero Country House in Bagnoli Irpino.  

Il Papavero is owned and managed by a charming couple, Maria Luigia and Antonino.  The property is fairly new, well maintained and extremely clean.  Guest Rooms are as described in the photos with comfortable beds, clean linens and private baths.  Each morning, a lovely breakfast is served in the breakfast room with prosciutto, mozzarella, Nutella, cereals, breads, juices and pastries.  The House Man, Ivanno, is an incredible part of the Il Papavero experience with his professional yet extremely friendly attitude.  

Il Papavero is conveniently located just outside Bagnoli Irpino and close to Lake Laceno (15 minutes), Amalfi (1.25 hours) and Naples (1.25 hours).  We will return to Il Papavero in the future and recommend Il Papavero to our family and friends.
