Just got back from staying here for a week. There was a party of 4 , and we used this as a base for riding the alpine trails on motor bikes around the italian/ french border. Very friendly staff. Very easy to walk into town for food. Or use the pizzeria next door which is excellent. Accommodation is good with everything you need in the apartment .

Great accommodation .

This was our second stay and won't be our last. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable. No it's not 5 star but it is very good value for money. It is convenient for the town and local amenities. The accommodation is ingenious, they fit so much into the space and cleverly hide the kitchenette and bedroom. The cupboards are not always cupboards, some open to reveal a hidden room! There is parking at the back and secure garage parking for motorbikes. The only thing to let it down was the shower but, hay ho for us the pluses well out weigh the minuses.

Friendly, convenient and value for money

Look I know these apartments were cheap, we booked with Neilson Ski, but what a let down.  First of all would like to point out that they are a 8 min walk to the ski lockers at Campo Smith. This is where you will find the first chair lift and ski school meeting point.  There is a bus stop up the road, but we only managed to catch it twice. Better off walking up to Campo Smith. Also from these apartments it is a 6 min walk to the nearest supermarket, which is very good and cheap.  Fresh bread daily. Lovely. The big plus is below the apartments is the best Pizzeria in Town.  So cheap for a pizza £5.50 euro for ham, cheese and mushroom.  Now my honest review.

Easy to check in. Lady in reception helpful. Our room overlooked the busy main road, and I mean busy! There are no shutters on the windows.  Small balcony. No sun. The bathroom is small, and the shower cubicle is tiny. Each room has its own water heater, so we never ran out of hot water. The bathroom, when we arrived, was dirty. I dont think they had bothered to clean it.  Lots of dust on the floor and the toilet paper holder, Anyway brought my own Dettol wipes so cleaned it all down myself!  They leave you a mop bucket, mop, and sweeping brush, just as well.

The living room has a folding sofa bed, I slept on it, and was quite comfy, slept well. There is a dining table and chairs. Again not very well cleaned, dust everywhere. The cupboards just looked grotty. Kitchen utensils were ok, what you need for a week. But every single cup, glass and saucer was chipped! Just 4 of everything, even cutlery.  These apartments need a good clean down. They need modernising and doing up, they would be ideal, central location etc.  No electric kettle, take your own. No toaster, but 4 hob top plate. Plenty of hot water and the room was always warm.  

My son and his girlfriend had the seperate bedroom. Twin beds, you can put them together. Plenty of cupboards and hanging space.   We were lucky, we didnt have any loud neighbours so we had a quiet week.  There is a lift. Couldnt find the ski locker, but we used the campo smith ones. 7 euros a week.  Free safe in the room.  We had the towels changed on the Wednesday, but no sheets changed or the room cleaned.

To sum up, for what we paid, we shouldnt complain.  We enjoyed our week, and after visiting Campo Smith village one night, was glad we were near enough to pop into the town. Boy is it dead up there, no atmosphere at all.  The town is nice, plenty of shops and eating places. But to be honest you couldnt beat the pizza place downstairs, 10% off too when you eat inside. We had takeaways 4 nights.

The skiing here was ok.  The blue runs are more like red runs.  Didnt bother me but I saw some people panicking when they saw how steep it was.  Most of the runs are steep.  Nice mountain restaurants, not expensive either. We paid 6.50 euro for a cheese and ham panini and a small beer. Skiied in Jaffrau, you have to catch a bus, only went once, it was quieter over there, more locals use it.  Nice runs back to the gondola.  Views from the top are lovely.
Well we wouldnt go again, but glad we had a cheap holiday.  I think we might go back to La Thuille next year.  Doorstep skiing you cant beat it.  I hope my review was helpful.
