We came for three days to this gorgeous house, which is done to the perfection. Especially if you hear the whole story about it from the owner.
The apartment itself was great and the pool area was even better. Our son loved the playroom which was filled with wooden toys. He did not want to leave it. :) 
It is a great location to start trips and we enjoyed every one of them. The Vergemoli panorama road was beautiful and Il Totto restaurant in Sassi was just perfect. Even though they did not speak English, we were able to order great lunch in this local place where they probably don’t have foreigners for lunch that often.
Just one note, it is kind of tricky to drive all the way down to the house so we did that just the first and last day. In between we were leaving the car up top at the parking lot because the road is very narrow. 
Giaconda is a fabulous host and gave us tips on restaurants and trips. Breakfast was nice and we loved their homemade honey and olive oil. We will definitely be back because we fell in love with this area, this place and L’Altana restaurant in Barga. OMG, we went there twice in 3 days and it was so good that we will never forget it. Beef fillet with balzamico sauce is the top.

Absolutely fabulous place

All fine, but it was a very cold room. We didn't have enough blankets, and the blanket did not smell like clean. So for someone with allergy that is maybe not the best option. But good price and warm hosts.

Cold

This is such a nice place set in stunning countryside . The pictures are not miss leading it really is that good. I think there are about six apartments six of us occupied two of these with  a connecting door.The apartments are traditional in furniture and decor no aircon but the rooms stay fairly cool. In one room we had a double bed in the main room and a single bed on a mezzanine level accessed by a ladder in the bedroom . The other room had one double in the main room a double on the mezzanine with steps and a single above the bed again on the mezzanine via a ladder. we were on the second floor and had mountain views from every side. The bathroom is with a shower all clean and practical . The kitchen has two electric rings separate free standing counter top oven and a fridge freezer.Breakfast is included Bread , Jams honey made on the farm and omelette with cheese & ham this is served in the breakfast room with other guests. Outside the pool is clean not infinity but you get great  views across the valley and there are sunbeds & chairs. Often we were the only ones in the pool . There are tables and chairs under gazebos in case of the odd shower . There is a brick BBQ you can use with cut logs supplied and utensils .Try cooking on the wood it makes a nice change from charcoal. There is also an outdoor table football and ping pong table.There were a mix on nationalities no rowdy people.This is probably the nicest place I have ever stayed . The host Gioconda is lovely, There if you need but knows when to leave you alone and happy to give advice and tips . One day we were served a traditional Italian chocolate pudding by Giocondas charming children.Don`t expect soulless whitewashed rooms and brand new everything this is rustic and brilliant.It took us around 1 1/2 hours to drive from Pisa. The only slight downside is you are 15 minutes drive from Barga which is a lovely town with everything you need . The last couple of miles is on a windy single track road with few barriers , The last 300 yards is down a very narrow road we had a big 7 seat 4 x 4 and could barely get down the road although you can park at the top. Don`t let this put you off it really is stunning and a most relaxing place.

Fantastic

We stayed here for 9 nights and found the location to be beautiful, peaceful and relaxing - it's also a great base to explore surrounding areas of Tuscany with a car. Gioconda who owns the B&B is a great host - very helpful with tips of the area and helping us with our laundry whilst we were there, which was lovely. The breakfast is filling and the pool is beautifully refreshing. Wifi also works in the rooms and it's free. 

Beautiful location and fantastic hospitality!

We had mixed feelings about our stay.  The property was somewhat isolated at the end of a narrow twisty road - the last section through the village was steep and narrow and we often just left the car at the top of the hill and walked in.

I wasn't expecting it to be "self-catering" and the amenities (e.g. soap in the bathroom) were minimal.  It would probably be OK for families whose kids wanted to play in the pool or partake of all the other things to do that were provided.

We were looking forward to some real peace and quiet.  Unfortunately there seemed to be a local fascination with weed whackers (starting at 6:30 am and going to dusk) and the owner next door liked to join in with his gas powered hedge trimmer.  It was just as peaceful as being back home when the lawn services all show up at the same time.
