I booked on Booking.com and I was supposed to pay upon arrival, so no credit card needed.
I received then some emails asking to pay a wire transfer to a private name to secure the booking, since I didn’t see the emails before the reservation was cancelled.
Be aware and careful of these hidden surprises.

Cancelled for no reason

We had the nerve to give only 4 points on Booking.com, and this is what we got. Very customer friendly and problem-solving attitude, isn't it?

I suggest the owner to enroll some courses where he can learn how to handle a criticism properly.

When the owner can not bear the criticism 😅

The location of the  apartment is at the centre of Bari - close to the historical city centre and close to the rest of the city. The apartment which was spacious was cleaned every day. It shared a kitchen.  The one thing I did not like was the shower in the bedroom which had only a semi-transparent roller shield offering limited privacy.

Well located

I booked one day, with their listing saying I could pay cash on arrival. Then the next day I got an email from them saying I needed to pay in advance, so I paid the full cost within minutes. A day later I got a cancellation message, claiming I hadn't even paid a deposit! This has put me to huge nuisance. Terrible service.

Cancelled for no reason after I'd paid in full

The location is the best point of this place. It is in City center near to train station, Old Town and sea. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom was nice and clean. Only minus is breakfast. It was too small. 

Very good

We stayed here for a week and the owner was very friendly throughout the whole time. Rooms are very clean, the owner does clean them every day. Breakfast is also a good one! The Kelefati Palace has the perfect location between the Bari Centrale and the old town. You can go to anywhere from the accommodation because everything is so close. I would recommend for everyone!

Hungary

It was our first night in Puglia and I booked Kalefati palace on Booking com not realising till we arrived it was b&b style and shared facilities which okay for me didn’t go down to well with the wife..
The other 2 rooms were occupied of the 6 in total, and they came home late & were a little noisy till midnight... I slept fine the wife not so well...
On a positive it is cheep compared to other’s in area, very central, and at 39€ what we payed ( you get what you pay for)... 
when we come back to Bari to fly out we are staying in hotel near airport...


Cheap acc and very central, Unfortunately shared facilities 

Perfect compromise among price, quality and position. My room was very nice and clean. Breakfast was amazing with all sorts of fresh products. A few steps from the main station, old town, shopping venues and beaches. The owner was kind and ready to satisfy our requests providing all information needed about the town. For sure, recommended! 

Great location in the center of town!

I made a reservation in this “B&B” because of the good comments it has on booking but it´s totally the opposite...It was the worst experience I´ve ever had in an accommodation, unfortunately I didn´t read the bad ones before going.
First of all, the owner just let you pay in cash and all of it in the check-in. He ask you to sign a paper (called contract but it was everything but that and of course ILLEGAL) and he doesn´t even give you a copy. Also, if you ask for an invoice in case you go there in a business trip and you need it, he refuse to give you anything and make excuses.
In reference to the apartment, there is a lack of cleaning in general…dirty floors and doors, furniture with dust, dirty sheets and smelling terrible, insects in the walls…and some furniture also broken( mattress with bumps, pillows, blankets and lamp were broken so Imagine how we “slept”).
If this wasn´t enough… in the price was included breakfast every day. Some days the owner didn´t give it to us and either did the room (not coincidence the day we asked for the invoice)
Also... WATER. pretty much every day we had a problem with the heater and the hot water. We couldn´t even get shower because sometimes it was working and a few hours later it would stop working. The owner said there was a problem with the heat and he had to go to turn it on but it happened during 5 days, every single day the same, after a few hours it would stop again. “of course you have to spend all your money doing international calling to get hot water if you want to shower and wait until he comes…if he comes)…you end up not showering.. It seems like the owner has a time set to turn it off so he decrease the invoice.
And of course not just that, you have to sleep with coat because you can´t change the heater in the room… yes… beginning of  February and you can´t even put the heater and the blankets and pillows are already ready for summer season..
To sum up, this is definitely not an accommodation I would recommend or I would experience again because it doesn´t have the minimum requirements for accommodation. FRAUD!

FRAUD

The place itself is not what you expect. Room is pretty spacious although not that clean and very cold in January (17 C) as they turn off the heating in the morning/day and turn it back on in the evening. Breakfast is just snacks like cupcake, small store bought cake, crackers which are not breakfast at all. More like a snack with a cup of coffee. Some furniture is broken and not stirdy at all. 
Overall 5/10 I think. When next time visiting Bari I'm sure that we will skip this place.
