B&B Etna 1703

Short stay at the base of Etna with wife and family and we reserved a room that would accommodate all of us. Good check in experience and room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a coupon to a local eatery and was ok.  The location was key for any visit to Etna as it was about half way up the mountain to the initial landing for the tours. Small issue with TV(s) as they would not work.  Very quiet area with some good local restaurants close by (by car). For a visit to Etna I would recommend and stay here again.

Very beautiful location with helpful and friendly owners. Spectacular views on the Etna. The location is close to Catania, Etna or Taormina. 
Maria was very friendly and told us the story of the house, family and the places around.

Real gem in Sicily’s countryside

At short notice we contacted Maria who had a vacancy for two rooms. The place was a little tricky to find but worth the effort (car essential) and Maria was a fantastic host with enough English to help us with tours and restaurants. The B&B is very quiet with good views of Etna (on a clear day!). Breakfast was nice and the place historic (wine press from 1703), close to Mt Etna, plenty of parking (unlike the rest of Italy!)

Very peaceful, very helpful, good price

B&B Etna 1703 is a beautiful spot, surrounded by nature, close to both Catania and the Etna.
When we arrived we were greeted by Maria the owner of the property and a warm energetic women who did her very best to make us feel at home. She explained about the building which used to be a winery, and is still used to produce wine once a year at the beginning of October (to maintain the tradition). Judging by her stories and the pictures, this is an unforgettable event, hundreds attending, children and adults stepping the grapes, long tables of food and wine accompanied by music!
The rooms are very clean, esthetic and well designed (nice ceramics in the bathrooms) - a real pleasure.
In the main hall you'll find a freshly baked cake, tea, coffee- all part of the deal.
The rooms are cleaned everyday - a real delight.
A rich breakfast is served every morning- scrambled eggs, a variety of cheeses, freshly baked pastry and cake, juice, coffee...
Her recommendations and reservations of restaurants in the area were superb, authentic Italian restaurants with tasty food. On our first night, Maria actually accompanied us to the restaurant, to make sure we wouldn't get lost.
The atmosphere is just great- an excellent way to spend your vacation.


An excellent choice!

Travelled with my family and we absolutely loved it.  Maria & her husband do look after their clients very well.  The ambiance is excellent and if you are in for some relaxing time this place is the right spot for you.  Pretty close to the main attractions in Sicily like Etna Land and Etna Volcano.

Very Enjoyable & Peacefull

Traveled with family and we all loved it, breakfast was great every morning, complemented with delicious homemade cakes and jams, hosts were very nice and welcoming. Kids loved the newborn puppies and the surrounding grounds. Definitely recommend.
