These apartments are absolutely beautifully decorated. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed five nights while visiting family. We had two rooms, use of the kitchen, which has a dining table and coffee maker and sink.  While there, there was another room occupied, but we never saw anybody. You get tickets to a pastry coffee shop down below for your breakfast portion of the B&B.

The town is absolutely beautiful...wander around.

I rarely give a place a 2 star review.  However, our experience with this hotel was nothing but stress.  We were two couples traveling on vacation to Campobasso for the first time - staying 3 nights.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:  After a ton of research on hotels in Campobasso, we booked this hotel about six months in advance because we wanted both suites and wanted to make sure rooms were available.  We were required to pay the FULL AMOUNT in advance, which we did.  We arrived on the exact date and time we told the owner (Manuela) we would.  Nobody was at the hotel, so we phoned her.  When we told her we were there and had a reservation, she immediately insisted we did not and she appeared to confuse us with another booking.  She was not friendly or helpful, nor did she doubt herself.  Right after the call, I emailed her our e-mail booking string which demonstrated our booking and that it was already paid for.  

Manuela then appeared to feel very bad for us and she apologized.  She said she did not have our booking in her system.  The hotel was full, so no rooms for us.  After a considerable amount of back-and-forth (we speak limited Italian, so it was extra challenging), she was able to secure us a night at a hotel owned by her friend (Mixage Living).  We were to be there one night, and then we had to go back to Art Studio for the other two nights.  She kept saying she would have a "sorpresa" for us and apologized for her mix-up.  

So we walked a few blocks to Mixage and were given rooms there.  We actually really loved this hotel - it was a lot like Art Studio in that it was a small boutique hotel with only three rooms.  It was on the 4th floor of a building in the main square.  The rooms there were great - A/C, window blinds that made it very dark at night, and a small balcony off our room.  Beds were very comfortable and the design and decor were relaxing.

The next day, we arrived back to Art Studio where we were told only one suite was available, so the other couple had the non-suite.  Another woman checked us in.  She did not refund us the money for the already paid for suite at that time.  And no "sorpresa."  She did not check on us for the rest of the stay, in fact.  Since then, we have requested a refund for the difference between a suite and a non-suite.  After many emails and attempts at getting her to refund our bank account, we never did receive the money.  Not sure if it is her fault or the bank's fault.  Assuming it's not her fault, the fact that she didn't return our money in cash while we were there was disappointing.  And, again, she didn't give us the "sorpresa" she kept promising to acknowledge our hassle and stress.

ROOMS/HOTEL:  The hotel is in a nice location in a main square of the city.  However, because of that good location and the fact there is NO A/C, the room gets warm if you don't open the windows.  And there was a ton of street noise.  Both of our rooms were facing the street.  All four of us hardly slept through the night because of the street noise outside.  

The rooms are very comfortable and well-decorated otherwise.  The hotel offers free bottled water and a common area with an espresso maker and large table.   The showers were excellent and the rooms were very spacious.  The TV worked well.  

Breakfast was a voucher for an espresso and a cornetto at a nearby bar.  Hardly worth the 10 euros charged for the "bed and breakfast" option.  I would recommend skipping that option and just paying for your espresso yourself.  There is a bar just below the hotel (adding to the noise at night) and the hotel offers a do-it-yourself espresso machine in the common area.

Wifi worked very well.  Parking is available only on the street (you have to pay). 

Overall we had a very stressful experience with this hotel.  We now wish we would have booked the Mixage Living for the entire trip.  

Recommendation:  If you book this hotel, make sure you confirm your booking a few weeks prior to arrival.  And ask for the one room that faces the courtyard as it is probably quieter.  And don't get the "bed and breakfast" option - it's not worth the cost.
