The "Tenuta" is a very spacious, well kept and tidy place in the middle of a large farm. The room is large and air conditioned. The bathroom spacious, though the shower a bit small. I used to look forward for the evening meal, with very good appetizers and typical Puglia food. Filomena was always eager to make us feel at home.

A very friendly place.

Don't expect luxury or impeccable and rigorous service, but beauty in a particular countryside, courtesy, human touch and tranquility. Clean and very cool rooms, fantastic when it's hot outside. There's a swimming pool. With these premises this place is for you!!

A different place

When I arrived, the property was very nice, owned and available. My note, given the price, is in the rather dated and unmaintained rooms. In our room the bed was just a net without structure and instead of the dressing room a chair.

I've been to a wedding... except for the cold wind... I have to say it was all perfect... the location is really nice, good food, great service... the only thing I didn't like was the spirit of the animators for children... no smile, no joke... the children all looked bored... never seen anything like this... the animators should animate, not demoralize...

Are you looking for a genuine experience in a real Masseria in Apulia? We found this lovely place, still a working farm, located very close to Canosa archeological sites and few km from Castel del Monte.
The Masseria is completely restored with style and elegance, with a wonderful patio, a large green and a beautiful swimming pool (open from 15.06). Room are 50 sq.m. with all comforts. Breakfast is served outside or inside with a large selection of homemade bakery and jam. Owners are delicious and stylish people and they will take care of you in everything you will need, also planning your journey. If you ask they could organize for you lunch or dinner with fresh product from the farm...delicious! Don't miss the chance to visit the ancient roman "Neviera" where ice was preserved during the winter for the summer, a cathedral 50m under the ground...
Lastly but so cool, the large and well organized paintball field. So bizarre to have this game in a such stylish place but so funny play a match!!! This is located in the entrance of the long narrow street bringing you and your car to the Masseria. Please book the field if you want to try this experience...they have everything you need, mask, dress, protections and weapons. 
Lastly be aware that few hundred meters from this iconic place you could visit Sabino Leone extra virgin olive oil frantoio, a multi awarded product between the best in Italy and few km after the wine cellars of Torrevento among the best Italian producers. In the area also Antichi Sapori a Michelin Star restaurant of Pietro Zito. A lot of reasons to spend at least a WE in this historical place.

Luxury Apulia Real Countryside

I've been to the Lion estate in winter, but the view from the outside is nice: the courtesy mistress didn't meet the demands. The rooms were cold. The bed where I slept had scandalous pillows.

What to Avoid Absolutely

The owner is uncomfortable and having already booked in another restaurant, she seemed almost offended that we didn't have dinner in the structure and she denigrated the local restaurants. The room was dusty, with old furnishings and bad bathroom. Fortunately, the Puglia offers many other opportunities and we only spent one night. Don't try to take a note of the owner: she's right, she knows everything and only she, so it's so much worth giving up and continuing the journey to limit the stay and enjoy so many other wonderful farms.

Smell and smell of mold

Among wineyeards and olive trees. Very good pool, also open to people not guest. The place is beautiful. Rooms are large but can be cleaner. The breakfast is poor, with no cheese, jam, nor bread. The food is good. Wine list almost empty. The pool bar is mediocre.

Good place!

Located in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees and olive groves, this establishment offers attentive service and quality cuisine. The sleep is quiet but the rooms are somewhat dark and its decoration is quite Spartan. The breakfast is served on a terrace with magnificent views of the garden and landscape. It has a swimming pool. The worst is the signage of the accesses, as without a browser it is impossible to locate them: it would be convenient for them to deliver a map with directions.The red Wi-Fi is of poor quality and does not reach the rooms well.

A relaxing atmosphere and good cuisine.

Charmingly staying in a typical farmhouse where Lucia, our host explained to us that they produced olives, wines and cereals. Even though we had a little cold (heating leaves a little to be desired in the large rooms furnished in the old stables) and that the large rooms for 4 are a little rustic, the reception is friendly and warm, the restaurant where every evening the chef gives us fresh produce and simple and typical dishes of the region, is great and cheap to find. The quick lunch is very tasty too. We might as well all resemble the Tenuta Leone a room and table of country guests.
