Il Profeta

We know Italy quite well, we have experienced so many bed and breakfast´s and agriturismi which are often polished accommodations. Not that Il Profeta is a run down place, definitive not, but this tiny bed and breakfast is situated on a caotic farm yard with no slack Tuscan Disney Style (but here we´re in Lazio). The B and B has one apartment (we´ve had) and - we think- three rooms in another place. The owner -a very dedicated and hospitable woman- lives there too. Our accommodation in cottage style was good and fairly new, and quite large. We ate there too. Many tourists are wanting and searching for ´eating with the Italian ´mama´ ´, here finally you will find that experience (but without the mama being present at the table - better so). We know the Spaghetti Amatriciana - which restaurant does not have that plate on his menu? - but this Amatriciana was of a rare tast. One of the best we ate before in our lives. We slept wonderful fresh in an-almost-40 degrees (Celcius)-night of July. Then the price. We paid (2 persons) 45 euros in July. Try to find that. With pleasure we think away the small defects like the shower with almost no hot water and the wine at the table (a warm Maschio prosecco). PS. We actually rented a bike at the Rome railwaystation San Pietro (at Bike Away in Via Monte del Gallo), took the bike on the train in direction Viterbo, ´drove´ to the small railway station of Cura (1,15 hour) and unloaded the bike. Il Profeta is 3 to 4 kilometers from there. Lake Vico is nearby (4 km) too, but the street to the lake is quite hilly, almost an Alpes etappe in the Tour de France.
