A really nice place on the main square of Scopello. The cosy B&B is lovely as the owner Maria. Small and very welcoming, is perfect for a couple or small family. Maria is the kindest person in the world and around the B&B you have everything you need. The breakfast is fantastic: everything is super fresh, homemade, tasty and typical of Sicily. Once you have had the breakfast there you can skip your lunch :-) Fast internet connection and very reasonable prices.

When we made our reservation, the only room left had an external bathroom. Maria gave us a room with a bathroom inside, however, which was great--and at the same price. The room was charming and exceptionally clean. Maria was very friendly and helpful, giving us advice and the inside scoop on restaurants. (And she was right.) Breakfast was delicious, including homemade jams and cakes. The B&B is right in the piazza, within walking distance of several restaurants, bars, a gelateria, etc., but it wasn't too noisy at night. We could enter the piazza with our car only to load and unload, and we had to pay to park during our stay. At the time, parking cost 5 euro for a day and a half, with in-and-out privileges. My husband and I both speak Italian, so I don't know how good Maria's English is. Overall, our stay at this B&B was a wonderful experience.

Great breakfast with home-made jam, cakes and other treats. Spacious room and bath. It was a bit cold, but the air-condition is working well as heating, too. Off-season parking right in front of the house in the main square.

Scopello is a wonderful spot! You can even walk to the entrance of the Parco Naturale Zingaro which is great for hiking. Extremely green and full of flowers in March. The only thing which is good to know: be aware of the fact that in winter almost everything is closed in Scopello. One bar in the main square was open until 8 p.m. but they only serve snacks, for dinner we had to drive to Castellamare del Golfo which was no problem, lots of restaurants there. In summer it might be quite crowded, though. later in spring might probably be the best time. Restaurants in Scopello seem to open around Easter. The bakery was open on Sunday.

Maria is a wonderful host!

Dead center in the hamlet of Scopello is B&B Maria.  Park temporarily in front to unload and park the car in the pay lot about 100 yards away at the village entrance (about 5 euros/day, with in-out privileges).  The location is just minutes away from the Zingaro National Park (well worth a visit, and pay attention when Maria insists you take plenty of water with you).  Three or four decent restaurants withing a one-minute walk, plus good ice cream, coffee, and forgettable ceramic shops. Upon entering Maria's you see a homey open room divided into kitchen, breakfast seating area, and sitting area with TV (Maria mostly hangs out here or in a bench outside the door on a sunny day).  The three rooms are up a sturdy circular metal stair.  The bed was fine and bathroom small but adequate. Housekeeping was minimal on our two-day visit. Maria speaks little English, but makes herself understood (it helps to speak a little Italian).  Nice generous breakfasts including fruit, juice, hard-boiled eggs, local cheese, bread and tasty homemade jams.  Maria is very helpful with restaurants, parking, and other info.  She really wants to please.  She asked us if we like certain items for breakfast... well she was putting on her coat to run to the market outside the village to get them before we stopped her.  Not much to do in Scopello itself but see the park, with its spectacular coastline, hidden coves, and hillsides full of wildflowers in spring.  Plan a full day if the weather is good; do not believe the guy in the ticket booth who tells you it only takes two hours to get to the end of the trail, unless your only goal is to have a brisk hike.  Maria's is only about 30 minutes from the Palermo airport if you are coming from or going there.

Charming Location near national park

We stayed with Maria for a week in October and loved its close proximity to everything and
right in the middle of the village. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were a lovely treat.  Maria speaks very little English which was a bit frustrating
as I wanted to tell her how much we appreciated her hospitality. So make sure you learn a few
Italian phrases if you are thinking of going there, it will make it more rewarding.
