After spending a week at a more rustic farm in Tuscany, ending our trip at Albergo Rossello in this beautiful beach town was an amazing treat.

Rossello had absolutely everything we needed - parking, lift for our heat luggage, great shower, cozy towels, wifi, mini-fridge, amazing balcony to bask in the sun, breakfast, fabulous location - walking distance to the beach, great restaurants and gelato.  All this for an incredibly affordable price.

We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Everything we wanted

We popped down to the Grossetto area to have a look around and chose the Rossella in Castiglione Della Pescaia because of its location - slightly set back and likely to be quiet. 

It is a simple, family run hotel and we were greeted by a charming lady who, once we had settled in, allowed us to park in their limited space (otherwise you need to park around the block). 

We had a perfectly nice room on the top (4th) floor - comfortable bed, good shower, well stocked mini-bar and a view of the sea. Right next to our room was a good sized terrace where we had a beer as we watched the sun go down. 

We were perplexed that the Rossella only has a 2* rating - I have been to many 3* hotels that were no better. 

Castiglione has a buzzy old town with rows of restaurants. The hotel gave us a discount voucher and we enjoyed a good, inexpensive meal. 

In the morning, the breakfast (included) was a buffet :some fruits, yoghurt,ham and cheese, but mainly pastries and croissants - all fresh and tasty and, of course, as we were in Italy, the coffee was good. 

The £45 we paid for the night seemed excellent value for what we had (albeit out of season). We then wandered down to the excellent beach. Castiglione received the highest rating along that entire section of coast for the cleanliness of its water - and you could see why: lovely clear sea next to pristine sand.

Considering it's only a 2*...

We loved our stay here, great rooms, fantastic location, easy parking and excellent hosts, staff and breakfast. we were only going to stay one night, but ended up staying three! Close to the beach and restaurants, had a lovely time relaxing on the beach and back at the hotel on the sun deck.

Great place to unwind!

Great little hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff.  Convenient to beach, restaurants, and town center.   Our room was small with little extra space for our luggage, but we didn't stay in the room much.  The bathroom was small and awkward - especially the shower.  Breakfast was good.  We got a great price for a room with a small balcony which made up for the cramped quarters.

Clean and cozy

We booked this place after reading reviews and got it quite cheap, probably because of the season. Staff at the reception was brilliant, the helped us with everything we needed in this town. I would have thought that you might need a car to get there but bus network in this town is brilliant connecting other close by cities with 1.5 euro approx. Best part about this place was, free bikes and you can ride them for as long as you like.

Bathroom was clean and brilliant but a little too congested.
