Piatina has become more like home for me, having stayed at numerous hotels in Italy with work and holiday I am yet to find a place where I have felt more welcomed and removed from the hustle and bustle of the London city. 

Panoramic views of the rolling hills of Tuscany from most rooms and swimming pool, on-site bar, dine-out table with amazing views of the swimming pool and rolling hills, organic food - some of the best I have had in Tuscany - with something new to surprise everyday, horses. wild life, acres of quiet land to wander and staff that speak perfect English and Spanish with incredible knowledge of Italy to guide me on my various adventures, some of the many reasons I visit every year if I can. 
I truly recommend. 
Sienna is just over 45 minutes drive and Florence just over an hour and half if you are driving.

My home away from home

Really bad communication and behavior from Isabella: despite full payment and booking in February, we received a sms 2 hrs before arrival, that the room was „broken“. No help to an alternative, no support except writing: sorry, find yourself another place to stay!!! And we should claim the prepayment and cancel the booking, so she would not receive a penalty.... great way to treat guests...

Agriturismo Piatina is what you would expect a day gateway in Tuscany to look like. The wine, views and the food. The inside of the Agriturismo has 3 beautiful, well curated, detailed rooms, each with its own character. You can see the passions of the owners Alessandro and Susanna in every corner.

Day Gateaway

This is the most relaxed place. Alessandro and Isabella are brilliant hosts: laid-back, informal, and so very hospitable. We went half-board, with breakfast and dinner included, and that is certainly the best way to go. Breakfasts are taken on the covered terrace with panoramic views across the valley to the hills opposite, and dinner is a seemingly never-ending plate after plate of delicious antipasti, pasta and meat dishes. Let them know in advance if you are vegetarian and you will be very well looked after. Supera

Simply Excellent

We stayed here based on a friend's recommendation and couldn't be happier that we did.  Our hosts were fantastic, welcoming and so accommodating (we travelled with 3 kids ages 5, 3 and 4 months).  We are still talking about the delicious food and my kids loved the delicious pasta and wonderful breakfast fruits and breads.  There is lots of room for little ones to run around outside with spectacular views.  It's a great location for day trips to wonderful Tuscan towns and my husband and kids loved the hike to the river which you can do from Piatina (one of their favorite things).  Both of my older kids still ask to go back :).  We very much hope we get to return one day soon!

A wonderful place to stay!

Piatina was better then I expected!  Very fun time!  The owners, Alessandro and Isabella, are great hosts, they eat dinner with you as well as serve you. All of the employees are very nice and want to make sure you are comfortable and happy. The food is amazing, Suzanna does a remarkable job with each dish she prepares for you. I have not figured out what was my favorite they were all so good, even the dishes I probably would never have ordered in a restaurant. Breakfasts are relaxed with sweet rolls of all kinds, fresh fruit, juice and of course espresso, cappuccino and americanos. We went on many day trips to Pisa, Lucca Sienna and many more. 5 stars all the way for me and a definite place to come back too.   If you are planning a trip to Tuscany this is a great place to stay for a few days. 

Fantastic and very inviting

What a great experience at agriturismo piatina! Isabella and Alessandro are two of the nicest people we have ever met! We loved everything there. Great food,comfortable room in beautiful surroundings.They made the entire visit 5 stars. 
 We hit it off with our hosts from the start! We felt like part of the family! Alessandro and his love of rock and roll American music playing in the dining area was a breath of fresh air! He was always smiling and eager to make you as comfortable as possible! Their house wine and olive oil were equally amazing!
 We are so happy with this experience that we have vowed a return ASAP! We can't wait to visit our new friends again!
 So if you have the opportunity to visit there we highly recommend them to everyone! Do yourself and your heart a favor and go to southern Tuscany and visit agriturismo piatina! We took a piece of that place with us in our hearts! Vitalia and Stan

New friends in Italy

I would not go to Italy and not spend time at Piatina. This is the most wonderful place I have ever enjoyed so much. The great family atmosphere.is just outstanding. A person, couple, family, would miss out on one of the highlights of Italy if they failed to spend time at Piatina.

This place is stunning and by far the best value proposition in all of Tuscany at 70 to 80 Euros all inclusive.. and when I say all inclusive I mean platter after platter for breakfast of sweet, then charcuterie, bacon, eggs, cereal for the kids.. whatever you want. Dinner is at least 5 courses and will take 3 hours but its an evening full of entertainment and good food. Alessandro is a great, hardworking host who is like an Italian Robert Downey JR.. full of hilarious stories (ask him for stories about his staff and wife and you'll be in stitches). Views from the dining area and pool are glorious. Rooms are rustic and comfortable. 

Things to keep in mind.. We only met one other expat couple during our time there as this place attracts mostly Italians. No matter for us we loved the Italians we met there too. Also, dinner is packed with outside guests (not staying at agriturismo) large groups of locals who come for great food and wine and entertainment. Sometimes they stay late talking and laughing and you may be able to hear them from your room, but this didn't bother us too much.

At the end of our stay, Alessandro wiped all the house wine off our bill (couldn't believe it) and let us go with our only extras being a few bottles of premium wine that we had. He also gave me a bottle of wine (really really good one) and two bottles of olive oil for free. I told him thanks but you can't keep doing that you need to make a profit and we had a good laugh about it. Just a tip, the Amarone they have is the best wine I've ever had in my life. Its expensive so maybe a one time thing but don't leave without having at least one bottle.
