My family spent a week at the Taverna di Bibbiano and it met our expectations. It is well located for day  trips to San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, and Grosetto.  The rooms were clean, the staff very helpful, and the restaurant had something for everyone’s taste. 

Great value. Spectacular views. We would definitely go back

Spectacular view, great location, excellent value.

We came to eat as it was included in a tour to Pisa and Siena and lunch was arranged there. We were 54 people and they prepared the tables for 7 people so when it was my husband and my time to sit there was no place together, and they told us to sit separated instead of preparing one new table (there were many empty tables). Another couple and us had the same problem and after discussing, we could sit together in a table. They served a terrible meal, crostini with a disgusting flavor, a bottle of water with suspicious things floating, a dish of pasta with the amount for a kid and a ridiculous dessert. They didn't change the glass of wine for white and red and even served red when white still remained. A complete disaster. I guess they treat you better only if you pay a regular menu and not an arranged by a tour one.

Worst waiter service ever

We came here with a big group of Ciao Florence and were happy with the service and the nice place and garden. The food was served with accompanying wine and was all right but not special. But it was perfect for a group of that size. Staff was very friendly. 

Satisfactory group visit

The best thing about this hotel is the beautiful views across the valley to San Gimignano from the restaurant and the pool.  The pool is also excellent, set in gardens with a good supply of sun loungers and shades.
We felt tolerated rather than welcomed in the hotel.   On arrival we had to stand and wait while the receptionist chatted to our taxi driver, we felt we got a fairly frosty reception from her the next day when we asked her to book us a taxi (as if she had expected us to do it ourselves) and even when we checked out we were never asked if we had enjoyed our stay.
Each room is different so I would advise customers to check carefully and try to name the room you would like.  Ours (Glicine) was dark and a bit musty but next door (Gigli) looked light and airy.  The room was cleaned daily but our sheets were never changed and we had to ask for clean towels.    
The restaurant staff were extremely pleasant  and friendly and there was a good choice on the menu but the quality of food varied enormously.  At the start it was excellent but by the end of our weeks stay there were problems.  On our last night I was served pork that was hardly cooked and the chicken dish that my husband ordered because had had it earlier in the week and liked it, was totally different - potatoes burnt and chicken wings in burnt breadcrumbs rather than chunks of chicken in light batter as previously.  We could only assume that there was a different chef or that some of the cooking was delegated to less competent people in busy periods.
It is unfortunate that the hotel is about 3 miles away from the nearest town and there are no bus links or footpaths to anywhere else.  As taxis are very expensive (15 euros for a 5 minute journey) we think this should be made clear on the hotel website.  
We did not like the fact that guests with very large dogs were allowed into the restaurant and that the dogs were at times let off their leads in the hotel grounds.

Beautiful setting but hotel lacks personal touch

Very trendy, clean and friendly country hotel... and not over-priced at all. Two 2-story stone buildings have a bunch of nicely decorated rooms. What you get from your room's window is the view of San Gimignano and its medieval towers - just breathtaking! This was rendered even more exceptional by the ever-present smile of Alessandra (reception attendant), who has willingly and efficiently fixed every little request we have placed.
The next-door taverna is not to be missed either. €35 they charge for the dinner (if you are a hotel guest) may sound high; but it actually is a real treat, given the quality, taste and close attention you get. Taglitelle topped with truffles and the steak Florentine were masterpieces. Of the dozen meals we have had on countryside restaurants of Tuscany, this was clearly the most outstanding!
