I can’t rate this small family hotel high enough, everything is excellent!!!
Predominantly run as a B&B hotel, the breakfasts are freshly prepared daily and very good.

I have stayed here several times whilst touring as an ‘overnight stop’ and as a multi day holiday destination.
Open Summer and Winter, so an ideal location for summer walking/activity holidays  or ski-Ing in winter, access to the Dolomiti Superski piste system with 1200km of groomed trails is approx a 10 min walk.
Colfosco itself has a good selection of Bars and Restaurants and busy Corvara is a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bus ride away.

This family run hotel is located in a quiet side road in Colfosco Alta Badia, from the balconies there are excellent views of the Sella mountains and the valley towards Corvara.
There is onsite parking, alongside the hotel building.

The hotel has recently been extended and has had a fully modernised refurbishment, so in addition to the great location and views from the balconies, the rooms are very well fitted out.
Exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, modern bathroom/showers with plentiful hot water.
The family run and service the hotel daily with clean towels, room servicing and running the reception.

Silvia, who runs the booking system speaks English and (I guess other languages)  Italian and German.

If I need to stay in this area, Garni Declara is my first choice……always.

An excellent family run hotel in a great location

It was my first time in the Dolomites and the accommodation was perfectly located. We had a fantastic view from the balcony and everything we needed in our room. The owners were lovely, discreet but available when needed. Breakfast is simple with everything you need and every morning you get a home-made piece of cake.
I would definitely recommend the place and would also come back.

A very good B&B - comfortable and clean rooms, excellent breakfast and fantastic views. Great location for exploring Dolomites. Plenty of hikes from the hotel.

Good value for money

The only improvement I could suggest is a local info (in English) about hikes, attractions,  shops, banks, etc. 

We'll stay there again when we back in the area

great B&B in Dolomites

I stayed in Garni Declara in early June with my husband and our dog. We really enjoyed our trip, what an amazingly beautiful area. The hotel was perfect for us, we were not expecting much as the price was so low but it was great, the accommodation comprised of a bedroom with bathroom attached (great shower), a kitchen/sofa area and a huge terrace area. It was decorated simply and nicely and everything was of a modern, clean standard. If we were coming to the area again we wouldn't hesitate to book declara. The breakfast was simple but absolutely fine. The only disappointment we found was that a lot of the local restaurants were closed and also ski lifts but we managed and drove to another town one evening for a meal which was great and we did a lot of climbing to walk off the lovely food we ate! The tourist information office said everything is a little more open from June 20th. Fab trip! 

Lovely place to stay

Declara is a really nice small hotel, situated in Colfosco just up the valley above Corvara towards Val Gardena.
The Hotel is about 400m uphill from the main road through Colfosco where the bars and restaurants are situated, not a big deal but something to consider.
This location however does provide a very quiet location which is nice.
There is plenty of parking outside and also some parking in 'the barn' ideal for Motorcycles.

The rooms are simple but modern and well furnished the shower/bathroom is modern and well appointed. All the rooms have a view of either the valley or the mountains.

There is a good continental breakfast selection, the staff/owners are very accommodating and helpful although their English is basic.
Irvine, the Owner/manager provided a hose and brush for us to wash our Motorcycles as they were real dirty from road grime, really helpful and personalised service.

A good value option for independent travellers, who like character and something different to 'plastic' chain hotels.


Quite hotel with good service and great views

Considering Colfosco is an up-market area, we thought Garni Declara was excellent value in early June before the summer season started. The chalet was very quiet, being on the edge of town beside alpine meadows and yet 5 minutes walk from the local mini supermarket. Our room was small but nicely furmished and with a superb view of the Dolomites from the balcony. Everything about the hostel was very clean. The breakfast was a highlight with a fresh fruit salad, meusli, yoghurt plus a variety of breads (including wholemeal) and good quality jams. Also the usual cheese and meats. There is a drying room and washing machine available - important after hiking in the rain. Our host, Erica, was welcoming and happy to help as required.
