Just a perfect bar i the center of Corvara.
You just have to visit this place, very friendly staff, good chrap wines and a bit oldschool felling of the whole place.
Seams like a meeting place for locals to. 

Great bar in Corvara 

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Chalet Madrisa for four nights. The location of hotel is great, is in the center of Corvara and near ski lifts (only few meters away). The owers are freindly and welcoming. The room was nice not big, but comfortable. They also have a garage for cars, so it was nice to have your car safe and warm. When we came back to the hotel from skiing it was nice to have a drink at the bar at Chalet Madrisa (the drinks were great and very generous) and play board games. We will definetly come back.

Great for skiing

Stayed for a biking event. Perfect location in town, close to trails and great road biking. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We were traveling with our big dog and they made us feel very welcome with her, which is not the case everywhere. Good bar and restaurant. Great value! 

Perfect home base 

My husband and I based our week of skiing at Chalet Madrisa at the end of February. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel the need to sing the praises of this wonderful, relaxed hotel. We both felt genuinely sad to leave. 

First of all, we loved the fact that the hotel is small and you feel like part of the family. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful. We loved the bar and restaurant area, where you could sit quietly, enjoying a drink or some simple food, or socialise with the bar staff and other guests. The rooms were very clean, simple and functional. The location was amazing - less than 5 minutes walk to the various ski-lifts in Corvara. 

The owners seem to have considered everything. There is secure parking in an underground car-park next door as well as space for unloading luggage right outside of the hotel. The boot room has separate access and all the usual mod-cons. The breakfast was a typical continental style, with great coffee and lovely freshly-made pastries. The service is excellent. We wandered around Corvara in the evenings and often ended up returning to Madrisa because we felt it was the best bar in town. It has a lively, friendly atmosphere but the bedrooms remained very quiet and private. 

For skiers, Chalet Madrisa offers everything you need. It's a great base for exploring the Dolomiti Superski area which is vast. You could base yourselves at Madrisa and explore the areas which are easily accessible from there (Corvara, Colfosco, Val Gardena), but we found having a car very useful for venturing further afield.

Overall, a wonderful place and would highly recommend.

A home from home

Corvara can be expensive in ski season, but Chalet Madrisa was reasonably priced for its location, service and the inclusion of breakfast. We were a little shocked when we arrived about 6.00pm on a Saturday night to find that there is no formal reception area, but with hefty luggage in tow, we stood in the very busy bar on the ground floor, thinking we had the wrong place. Staff quickly assisted and got us checked in. There is no lift, so expect to carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs. 
Our room was a reasonable size for two with a lovely balcony. The bathroom decor is dated (hideous 1970's tiles) but it was clean and everything worked well. 
My fear of the noise from the bar downstairs being a problem was unjustified as our room appeared well insulated from it.
Through the the course of the week, we became regulars at said bar ourselves, enjoying the hospitality of the staff, the company of other guests and outsiders who frequented the venue.
There is a ski room with a heated boot rack. The property is an easy stroll in ski boots to several major lifts. We arrived/departed by bus and the bus stop is less than 100m away.
The staff all had enough English to communicate with us and were friendly and willing to help. It's a family run property and we felt welcome. The other guests were also a very friendly "league of nations" (English, Austrian, German, Italian & us as Australians).
