Shortly before season-closing, my husband and I were delighted to spend a restful week at the wonderfully unique Tenuta Sidore.  Part resort, part B&B, the property offers an assortment of casita-like housing options, several with kitchens. Our one-bedroom unit had a separate kitchen/living area, a sizable bath and an outdoor dining patio. The pool, in October, was open, available and welcoming. 
Host-Pierluigi is a treasure; it was he who made our stay truly memorable. Cook and Housekeeper, Graziana is, as her name implies, most gracious (and a very good cook - we had an excellent meal on our last night, complete with home-grown veggies). 
Remember: this is not your typical resort. It is 13 units in the midst of an olive grove so using the provided GPS coordinates (NOT the address) will get you to/from. In order to see the MANY area sites (Otranto, Lecce, Gallipoli, Maglie and loads more), you must have a car - Tenuta Sidore is a perfectly located hub. 
Technology can be tricky, so, if you must stay connected, this may not be for you. That writ, TV news is available in multiple languages.  During busy season, the property offers (fee) activities. Meals will be provided with advance notice and, yes, we did pay a 90Euro cleaning fee for our Interval booking ... happily.

AMONG THE OLIVE TREES

If 3.5 stars were available, I'd use it
The positives- a beautiful setting, rustic, grounds well-kept, large pool, bathroom recently renovated, beautiful porch. A great supermarket just up the road. Picturesque Italian towns a short drive away in all directions.
The negatives- WiFi worked only in the office, did not reach the rooms- unacceptable when they advertise WiFi. accommodations also list stereo with CD player. This does not exist. The faucet in the kitchen sink was installed incorrectly. When you put on hot water it is scalding, but you can't turn the handle to the cold side. Duh. Although the bathroom was renovated somehow the toilet seat doesn't match the toilet- a small thing I know but unnecessary. The small espresso maker was broken but Pierluigi replaced it the next day. I should mention that he was an excellent host.
And, as someone else has mentioned, there was a charge for cleaning which was  1)  exaggerated, and 2) the place wasn't all that clean, especially the kitchen- we had to clean all the dishes and utensils and cooking and serving area.
Concerning the rates, this was an Interval exchange and in the end, with exchange fees and cleaning fees, we seem to have paid almost what we would have coming in off the street.

Not quite ready for prime time

This was an interval international exchange, and we would give it 5 stars but they made us pay 70 euros for cleaning when we arrived, as we checked in. This was not part of the interval international exchange, cleaning is optional. Since we were staying in a studio (no kitchen), we are tidy people, and are quite capable of keeping our room clean. Except for all the critters, there is an abundance of rolly polly bugs, caterpillars, slugs and spiders that show up inside.

Tenuta Sidore is tough to find, due to its isolation inland. We used GPS, and their given address, which put us on a tiny road no where near the property. We went to another agri farm and asked. It is beyond the industrial zone area. The signs stopped just before this area. It’s in an olive grove, and you hear birds chirping all day. At night, one of the neighboring properties has an alarm that goes off, non stop for hours, an annoying non stop beep. It has been every night from 10pm on, at random times. They can’t do anything about it, and it takes away something of the peaceful serenity you feel during the day. 

The staff are super nice and friendly. Super helpful and attentive. The breakfast you pay for is good. There is yogurt, pastries, bread, meat and cheeses. They make fresh coffee too. If you are lucky, the local cat comes to visit, it is super shy, mostly feral. So don’t expect affection.

The grounds are tidy, pool is lovely. We walked around the entire property, some of the olive trees are hit by the disease that is an issue down here. But otherwise it’s a nice property. 



It would get 5 ⭐️ - we were forced to pay for cleaning

Set amongst olive groves in the Puglia country side first impressions were very favourable, the rooms are clean but relatively basic with simple self catering facilities.
It describes itself as a ‘country house hotel’ but is very clearly does not deliver a normal hotel service. Evening meals are provided but have to be booked by 9.00am in the morning and there is no choice of menu, similarly breakfast must be booked the previous evening. Breakfast a simple continental one with slices of cheese and meat with bread or rolls and a few small croissants, evening meal okay but as we (and most of the other guests) found it is probably better to eat out. Grounds are well kept with a nice pool and plenty of seating areas but there is no bar or opportunity to get a coffee etc other than with the evening meal so you have to provide your own drinks.
Overall a restful and quiet place to base yourself for exploring the wider region.
However then to be charged €90 for one 40 mins clean of the room and change of towels and bed linen is really unacceptable and left a negative impression of otherwise a pleasant break. Similarly it advertises WiFi as available but throughout our we it only provided service on two days and then just for a couple of hours each day.
I would recommend it but do not go expecting a ‘country house hotel’ with hotel facilities and service.

Lovely setting and beautiful - BUT!

This is a very picturesque place to stay, and would be absolutely lovely in the heat of summer.  We were there in the second week of April so our enjoyment was limited by weather conditions.  The “studio/room” was small, constructed of concrete (including the bed platform and furnishings) and absorbed the chill and damp of the air.  That issue would not be a problem later in the season.  But the bed made it impossible for my husband to sleep well, and with only one chair in the room, one person had to sit on the bed.  Apart from a closet, there were no drawers to store clothes. The resort has great outdoor seating and a lovely lounge, but it was too frigid to use during our stay.  Wifi was a problem for the entire length of our stay.  On the positive side, Graziana and Pietro Luigi were unfailingly warm and friendly. We had daily breakfast and dinner for a week.  Graziana’s pasta was delicious.
