Fantastic service (Ms Dorota from Poland is so lovely!), fantastic location, fantastic animation Team (so good with kids!) and the most fantastic food as for a holiday resort hotel! Seafood everyday, fresh and home made. What else canm I say. Just go there and chill ouyt! Rooms are basic but what do you need? If marble and Grohe everywhere - you won't get it. But it's clean and fresh. Choose the bungalows in the front - the view from the terrace is amazing!!!! We absolutely loved it, my 3-year old daughter too.

Excellent location, really spectacular. Very well designed and landscaped. Good pool. Great beach. But the folks operating it are disinterested, don't know their business. Hotel reception had worst English of any hotel we stayed in over 6 weeks travelling Italy-Croatia and didn't seem to care. WIFI did not work in room, only on main floor area. Dinner choices meagre. Served cold while you watched the family of the proprietor enjoy a four course hot meal at his table right at the door to the restaurant. They didn't care. Afternoon poolside was like being stuck next to the 'animation' centre in those Mexican resorts: booming boring music only the Dj enjoyed...but he wasn't looking at guests...didn't care.
Don't stay at Guardacosta until you know they have new management that realizes they are in the hotel business.

Needs new management

We discover this hotel some years back while travelling south of Italy. It was end of Aug so there were still alot of Italians holiday maker.
As we do not like crowded, we decided than we would just have bed and breakfast at the hotel.
Decided after 3 years to come back again as there was a very good offfer in Sep. Since we had a week of holiday, we took up the offer and book a week at the hotel full board.
I must say it is one of the best holiday we have had in a long time. Food was excellent. There was always a choice of fish or meat available. Roome includes an umbrella and 2 sunchairs on the beach so what more could we ask for,
Believe me Cirella is really a beatiful palce with a nice beach and warm climate. The problem is most Italian holiday makers take their holiday in July and Aug so if you like some peace and a relaxing holiday, avoid these months. 
We had a wonderful stay thanks to a very lovely lady name Magi who works at the hotel. Prefect host which makes you feel at home immediately and nothing you ask is impossible.
I would recommend anyone who would want to visit Calabria to stay at the hotel. 
Hotel is clean. Rooms are big. Food is excellent and services is outstanding, so what more can you ask for. And also there is alot to see and visit around Cirella. Italy is fill with places of history and culture and Calabria is really beautiful.

Hidden gem..

Cirella is truly the middle of nowhere, but invited to a close friends wedding we headed to what seemed like the boondocks of Italy. I can safely say that if you ever wanted to escape there is no place better. The town is charming but tint, ye don't let that fool you, it has a set of ancient ruins on the cliff with a view that is breathtaking. The water is crystal clear and though the beach is pebbles not sand, it was an incredible two days. On a friends recommendation we booked this hotel. the rooms were clean and simple, but the pool and view where stunning. They also have their own private beach which is free to guests and open all the way through, perfect for a little romantic midnight swim, in the dark and mysterious ocean. Breakfast by the pool was relaxing and though the restaurant isn't the greatest the stay itself was made comfortable and relaxing. Take the chance and visit this little southern Italian gem.
