What an absolutely amazing, awesome, wonderful, stunning and excellent family run b&b !!!! The decor is superb, clean and beautiful! 
If you are looking for a typical tuscan place to stay, this is IT!  Not far from the busy Firenze streets yet close enough by quick bus ride! The absolutely phenomenal Linda is the perfect host!! Friendly,  fun and so so helpful

We love Firenze and adore Al Canto and this will be our only choice of stay when we come again!

SUPERB ALL ROUND

Highly reccomended place to stay in Firenzi. Rooms are really confortable and very clean, owner Linda is very friendly and helpful with the tour reccomendations. Bus stop and train station are literally 5 minutes away which makes your life easier. My wife and I had an amazing time at Al Canto and the Tuscany. 

Amazing experience

Al Canto is a fabulous restored 14th century home.  The rooms are large, centered around a lovely enclosed courtyard, beautifully painted and decorated in soft but dense colors, super well-maintained, light, and so quiet and comfortable. There is nothing ancient about the facility except it’s structure,  The neighborhood is non-touristy, offers bakeries, cafes, bars, and good restaurants.  It is steps away from the Arno and a very pleasant 10 minute direct bus ride to all the city sites. One feels like they’re living in Firenze rather than just visiting.

And there are no words to describe the owner, Linda.  She’s brilliant, charming, funny, helpful, and, as a result of her academic and professional background, an expert on Italian  art and history.  She’s the perfect owner of a B&B…fully available but never fussing or overbearing.  She knows the city well and can answer all your questions and provide advice as needed.  She’s absolutely wonderful in every way.  I cannot imagine a better B&B experience.

Extraordinary B&B with an even more extraordinary host

  We recently returned from a trip to Florence, staying at Al Canto both at the beginning and end of our trip, experiencing two gracious and spacious rooms in this peaceful spot.  A modern restoration with old stone walls and beams remaining from the original building combined the best of the old and new.  The rooms were lovely, colorful and well appointed; I delighted in a heated towel rack for the first time in my life.  
  The breakfast was beautiful, far more than I expected, in a spacious kitchen where tea or coffee, and little snacks, yogurt and yummy bread were always available.
  Linda was the perfect host, fluent in various languages, totally knowledgeable about her city, and generous in her help and advise.  It couldn't have been more comfortable and friendly.  We appreciated her help in making a reservation for the Uffizzi, (needed), and tips on everything such as where to find what and how to shop, etc.  
  Al Canto is sparkling clean, with a lovely inner courtyard and various places to relax.  
  The location is a pretty neighborhood on the outskirts of the heavily touristed city center, so it is quiet and peaceful, There is an easy bus ride into the city center so one has the best of both worlds, all the art and attractions and a quiet place to crash, with the Arno nearby as well as some good restaurants.

A lovely place to stay with excellent hospitality.

I had an amazing stay at Al Canto. Linda ( Art Professor) and her son Nicholas were great hosts.  Nicholas met me outside and helped me with parking and my bags. The B&B is beautifully restored with a lot of thought put into each detail. The breakfast was great, I really enjoyed the jams. 
Linda is a wealth of information on Florence and beyond. She even gave a paper of what to see in Rome. 
Excellent and quiet place to stay while visiting Florence. We will be back! 

B&B, Art Professor & Florence 

Four days in Florence was the first stop of our two week trip. Staying with Linda and her family (Ryan, Nick and Fletcher) was the perfect way to start to unwind. The Al Canto experience combines a beautiful building in a quiet neighborhood with large and comfortable rooms, a yummy and plentiful breakfast as well as "anytime" access to the kitchen facilities and private courtyard. Take the opportunity for great conversation with Linda about Art or politics or anything at all ...and listen to advice about where to go, eat or drink. If you have a chance, take the short bus ride downtown, avoid the tourists and visit Nick at the bar he works at in dowtown Florence....one of the highlights of our visit!

Home away from home

We met Linda, and her sons Ryan and Nick through friends of ours in Toronto. Linda is Canadian and has lived in Italy for years. The boys are Italian. The accommodations were amazing!! Outside of Florence proper and only a short bus ride or as we discovered a lovely walk along the river into downtown. Linda and her boys made us feel like family. Breakfast as well as the room, the bed and the courtyard were comfy and homey. The other travellers were lovely and Linda was so helpful with recommendations and information. We will be back! The hostess, Linda, is very welcoming, and does her upmost to make you feel at home. She comes forward with a lot of useful suggestions, is able to arrange museum tickets for your, and is always cheerful. 

The breakfast was good, and the coffee is excellent!

The rooms are clean and spacious. The B&B is not in the city center, so away from the crowds. It is a 10 minute walk to the bus station. You can buy bus tickets at the Tabaci stores or buy the tickets in the bus itself. In less than 15 minutes you are in the city center.
