Hotel David 

When I was looking for a hotel in Florence I really wanted something traditional and obviously with good reviews. I stumbled upon Hotel David and was simply blown away by the wonderful recommendations! The first thing I would say is that the pictures definitely don’t do this hotel justice! We had an amazing room (number 16) with a generous balcony. It was so classy with high ceilings, gorgeous furniture and very comfortable bed. It has lovely fresh bedlinen towels changed daily. You can even open the windows which was lovely and the shutters went up and down with the touch of a button! The shower was lovely and hot and the (plentiful) toiletries smell amazing and there is also a very powerful hairdryer. The whole hotel is immaculately clean and I’m not exaggerating when I say that it is totally the staff that make this hotel so wonderful. Literally from the reception staff, to the breakfast/lounge staff, to the cleaners, they all went out of their way to be super friendly and helpful! We instantly felt extremely relaxed and a wonderful touch was a complimentary bottle in our room for a special wedding anniversary and also my birthday! If you are reasonably fit, all the attractions are an easy (flat) 20-ish minute walk. As others have said there is also a bus stop right outside the hotel which we used today which was like 88cents each! The ‘happy hour’ which is actually 1.5 hours is amazing value with a lovely little buffet and really nice wine or beer. Also a lovely chance to mingle with other guests. Breakfast was great the only slight negative is that the eggs which were lovely weren’t very hot but with people opening and shutting the dish that must be quite difficult to achieve. There is no question that we would definitely stay here in a heartbeat if we come back to beautiful Florence! Please feel free to ask any questions. We shall be sad to leave tomorrow!
