I booked to stay here as part of a trip around Italy. The plan was for a stress free holiday. We arrived at the hotel to find it closed!!! With a note from another person who had clearly found the same as us 2 days earlier. I booked this two weeks previously and had confirmation. It wasn't until I called booking.com while sat on the step outside the hotel did I realise they had tried to call previously to tell us the booking was cancelled. Fine if you have internet access or a phone with no roaming charge!! Ended up in my opinion in a lesser hotel,further out and slightly more expensive. Poor show Casa lea cancelling less than 24 hours before our arrival.


Last minute cancellation

I loved this family-run hotel. The antique-style furnishings, the retro ornaments and the old fashioned lift leading to cozy, eclectically decorated landings and spacious rooms were all fantastic additions to a very comfortable stay. Rooms were clean with quaint bathrooms, some leading onto small balconies: excellent spots to read after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The location of the hotel was convenient, being only a short walk from essential bus stops and sights. This hotel would suit anyone who fancies something a little different!

Eclectic and Quirky

This is literally a 15minute walk from where mega bus drops off at Piazzale Montelung in florence. 

And is situated walking distance from pretty much all the tourist must see locations. 

Check is located on the 1st floor but there is a lift if required.  Altho it is a small lift just big enough for one person and possible a wheel chair. 

The hotel staff were very friendly and had a lot of good advice on where to go and what to do as well being very chatty. 

The room was clean and tidy. Decorated in a traditional Italian looking style. 

Decent shower, altho small. It was clean and all in all well worth the money!

I'd definitely visit again. 

The room was a little hot with no A/C or Fans but for me it was no issue, but this could be an issue for some!

A cracking little place - worth a visit

I would like to give further information on this hotel. But even if we had booked several weeks before, if the owner had email-adress and phone number, after our 9 hours journey, the owner stood outside: cleaning his motorcycle and just concerned it necessary to go upstairs when we already stood with our luggage in front of the reception desk. Then he told us that "unfortunately someone had broken the rooms and he had been looking for other accommodation for us but didn' find anything"... Strange: so why did he seem to start searching just when we arrived?? 

We waited for about 40minutes in front of the reception during which he was searching on the Internet. Nothing to drink was offered and they were rude. The only "offer" was to spend a night in another city (but he couldn't even propose a room in another city) and come back for the second night yo Florence. 

Strange that the same weekend there was an motorcycle contest or something similar. So the prices were the double in Florence. As we had booked earlier, perhaps they had forgotten to rise the prices and than got a group who payed more.... So that they preferred not to concern our reservation...?!

Finally we were refund our money. Plus -  as we insisted -  a part of the difference for the price of a room that WE found in Sienna.

Arrived at 10 pm at this place, the man keeping the hotel told me that my room was not available, despite all the documents i had summarizing all the informations needed for my registration. If you want to be with "no place to sleep" make a registration there.
