We stayed 1 night in Foggia after a short pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo. Our stay in Foggia is supposed to be a short rest in preparation for the next leg of our summer vacation, which is Rome, and it so happened that we stayed on a Sunday...
The first thing we noticed is that contrary to what was described in booking.com, the property was very far from the train station; it took us more than 25 minutes walking before reaching the area, and even with the help of a GPS app, we couldn't immediately locate the exact property. Having said that, I appreciated the fact that the area is quiet, maybe because we stayed there on a weekend.
B&B Malie is not your typical hotel-type accommodation: the apartment is locked when we arrived, and we have to call the manager so that she could open the property for us (I think they had written this in booking.com, so be aware that you have to wait a while before you could check-in). In fairness to the staff, they were very friendly and accommodating. The staff in the reception explained to us clearly how the property is run, telling us that the breakfast (yogurt, cupcakes, and a few biscuits) are already in the room, and there will be no staff to look for us during our stay. The property is more like an apartment, where guests occupy each room. There is a shared kitchen/dining area where you can eat if you don't want to eat breakfast in your room, and where you can cook as well if you feel like cooking during your stay. There is also a washing machine that you could use should you decide to do some laundry during your stay. You just need to pay 5 Euros for each batch/cycle of laundry.
We booked two rooms during our stay. One of the rooms is called "matrimonial"; it is of good size, and there is an en suite toilet and bath. The other is a normal double room; it is small in size for a double room, the toilet and bath is outside of the room, and the AC in that particular room did not work throughout our stay which made sleeping very difficult due to summer heat. Also, the outside bath has a loose shower cubicle door, so be very careful in opening and closing the shower door. Even though both rooms are supposed to be occupied by 2 persons each, there were only a single bottle of mineral water supplied in each room.
We were also unlucky that the wifi signal on our side of the apartment was very weak, and thus, it's very difficult to access the Internet. You have to go to the middle of the apartment to get a decent signal and speed. The staff was kind enough to solve this a bit when we called them, by giving us the password for another wifi near the reception area.
During check-in, the reception staff gave us her number and told us we can call anytime should there be issues during our stay.
I'm not sure whether this happened because we stayed on a weekend, but from afternoon onward, not a single shop was opened within the vicinity of the property, except for a single fruit stand 5-minute walk from the B&B. Hence, we just indulged in fruits for our dinner ;)
As there's nobody in the reception, you just need to leave the keys to the main door and your room on the table when you check-out, then close the main door when you leave.

Very basic...

I stayed in Foggia at Malie B&B with my husband during New Yers Eve from 31 December 2014 until 4 January 2015. The reception and the rooms are in the old center of Foggia with comon kitchen. We choose the monolocale because it had a private kitchen and we could cook there. The place was wonderfull, close to everything. The monolocale is not in the building but at walking distence of 5 minutes on grownd floor, and this gives you a lot of privacy.

+The owner is a really sweat and nice lady that wants to give you everything you need.

We found Amelia very helpful, she was running around trying to help everyone with their needs. The only complaint would be that we could hear every little noise from the room next door. It was not your typical B&B, but it was great.

Very fresh and inviting

Once I had arrived I was left to my own devices, no map of the town, did not see anyone on duty at any time, no breakfast - had to go to the cafe down the road - something I was not made aware of when I had booked, it felt more like a boarding house than a B & B.  Could smell stale cigarette smoke as soon as I opened the room door, air conditioner didnt work.  A very  noisy neighbourhood and other 'guests' had 'visitors' during the night - making for a bad night's sleep/rest.
