We stayed in Villa Scannagallo in May to celebrate some friends special anniversary.  We enjoyed fantastic views across the campagana, as we sat or enjoyed meals on the spacious, shaded terrace.  It's all set in a beautifully tended and peaceful garden, with a separate swimming pool with its splendid hot tub.  We stayed in the Colonna apartment, which was immaculately kept and very comfortable, and enjoyed cooking and eating together with the rest of our party in the wonderful communal kitchen and dining area (so we didn't need to use the kitchen in our apartment).  This lovely, welcoming place has delightful and extremely helpful owners.

Tuscan happiness

We spent 9 days at the beautiful Villa Scannagallo in June.  The owners Alesandro and Antonietta and Barbara and Loretta made our stay so memorable.  We explored the many hill towns, Deruta, Cinque Terra and took the train into Florence for the day.  Three generations (17 in all) were able to relax enjoying the beautiful gardens and views, swim, play table tennis and soccer.  We enjoyed shopping at the local farmers markets and visiting the nearby food stores.  We were there during the World Cup so enjoyed an evening with Fabio and the Pozzo della Chiana customers at the local pizza establishment - great pizza!  We also arranged to have two dinners prepared for us at the villa - A Sunday Dinner and a Pizza/Focaccia Night - both delicious and abundant.  The kids enjoyed their pasta and pizza making instructions and are creating delicious meals now back in the US.  We are all trying to figure out when we can return!  Thank you for a vacation of a lifetime.

Family Holiday exploring Tuscany

We stayed for a long weekend in May. The Villa is beautiful and our apartment was spacious. The hospitality of the owners started when we arrived late at night, bringing us their wine and some cheese and ham so we can make a pasta dinner. The choice at breakfast was far better than many hotels i've stayed in. We weren't able to make full use of the grounds as it was a rainy weekend but the kids still played on the swing & slide. A good size supermarket nearby. A good playground at the designer outlet, just 15min drive away. With rusty Italian and the power of google translate we were able to communicate with the owners ok. We have already booked up to come back in August and can't wait to get into the pool & hottub.

Long weekend stay with extended family

We cannot rate Villa Scannagallo highly enough.  We stayed for 6 nights and had a perfect stay.  Antonietta was a wonderful host and we were treated like part of her family. 

The Villa is set in beautiful gardens and in a perfect tranquil location with a lovely view over the rolling hills.  We enjoyed relaxing by the Villa's lovely pool and in the hot tub. The Villa is also perfectly located to visit Tuscan hill towns as well as Siena and Florence- we had a car for these day trips. 

Our apartment  was very comfortable - it had a fully fitted kitchen and living room,  shower room and lovely bedroom with a huge bed! There is wifi and a tv too. 

Antonietta served breakfast each day on the Villa's lovely terrace- there was a great selection of meat, cheese, bread, fruits, cakes and biscuits available.  Antonietta and her family could not do enough for us- they offered recommendations about places to visit, made extra dishes for breakfast and arranged for our clothes to be laundered go free.  The entire villa is comprised of holiday lettings: Antonietta lives in the neighbouring village but is at the Villa every morning and evening in case you need anything.   Antonietta does not speak English fluently but we managed to communicate well enough using our very limited Italian!

In short- we cannot fault Villa Scannagallo and would highly recommend it to others. We cannot wait to return.
