B&B Il Mulino

A true gem! Katia and Daniele are the best of hosts. We stayed here one night in June 2023 when we five Canadian girls were hiking the Via Matildica del Volto Santo from Reggio Emilia to Lucca. What a welcoming haven this beautiful B&B was as we were at the half way point in our 200 km walk. I had booked well in advance and our hosts were very helpful in all aspects including securing us a spot to have dinner at the local restaurant at a time when tourist season had not yet begun. The B&B itself is in a quiet location with beautiful hills surrounding it. It is lovely and pristinely clean. Two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and another two bedrooms share a large bathroom. Worked well for all of us. A huge bonus for we hikers was the washing machine which we took full advantage of and hung our clothes to dry on the outside lines in the fresh mountain air. With a large family room and dining area and a pretty and well appointed kitchen, staying here for a night or several nights is so easy. Plus a balcony off the kitchen on which to sip your coffee in the morning. If we could have stayed longer to explore the area we certainly would have. I hope to be back and to do that someday. Lots of delicious and healthy options were provided for a self-serve breakfast and a full kitchen in which to prepare whatever we wished. A grocery store about 1 km away if needing anything for lunch, dinner or snacks. Our hosts were so helpful and welcoming we cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend staying here and putting Fontanaluccia on your list of areas to see in this part of Italy. Being the last leg of our walk before the Appenines, this area is full of beautiful sights to see, fresh mountain air and all mother nature has to offer. And B&B il Mulino is the perfect place for friends or families to stay and explore the region. Highly recommended by we Canadian girls 🇨🇦!
