We stayed at the Casa del Fico for 3 nights to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. The hotel is small with only a handful of rooms. The location is just stunningly beautiful, overlooking the Adriatic Sea from far above. There are no major cities nearby, only smaller towns. Lecce is about 1 hour drive, and public transportation is almost inexistent, so you need to have a car. Staff and management at the Casa del Fico were very friendly, our room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was tasty, made from largely local products. There are so many other wonderful spots to visit in Italy, so I’m not sure whether we will come back. But I can definitely recommend it.

Stunning location overlooking the ocean

The views and location were amazing . service was great. Our only disappointment and that will put us off booking again is that we felt that they are on a budget with breakfast . we were four and the food was put out for 3 people and it feels awkward to ask for more so we did not feel comfortable. we asked the TV to be turned on in common area and it seemed like a big ask and once the match my husband wanted to watch was over they switched TV straight off without asking if we want to watch more.
Not enough lounges in common area and it does not feel welcoming at all. we booked directly through them and we were supposed to have 2 rooms with sea view and ended up with two back rooms and we felt that we were short changed as we booked and paid 8 months in advance. Even though the house with owners live in is amazing it is not hospitable and you can feel like you are intruding on everything

amazing views but a bit tight with breakfast

Nestled in beautiful countryside settings overlooking the rocky shores of Leuca, la Casa Del Fico is an exclusive retreat with a warm family feeling. Amazing views, contemporary interior design and the original farm construction and terraced fields all blend in very beautiful harmony. The owners, Andrea and Donatella, make you feel instantly home and yet they are super discreet. Breakfasts are spectacular, facing the sunrise over the sea, in the shadows of pine trees, cicalas singing good morning and Eleven, the house dog, greeting you with his friendly smiles. Very importantly Andrea's mum is the chef that prepares amazing local food at breakfast and for dinner upon request. All bio and locally farmed, the assortment of breads, cheeses, salami and vegs from the garden is amazing. If you decide to stop for dinner ( highly recommended) you will taste delicious hand made pastas and the most exquisite fresh fish. The location is superb to visit Leuca and the coast including Gallipoli and Ostuni. There are very few places like La Casa Del Fico around: we highly recommend it! Ciao, Marco & Family

A gem facing beautiful seas

After a very warm welcome from Donatella and Andrea, it was very satisfyimg to see our dreams come true as the pics of this stunning gem are exactly as advertised. Breakfast was overseen by a lovely, local young lady who seemed proud to serve the adequate meal, sometimes with delicious filled croisants. Views from the only 'superior' room and outdoor space were stunning.  A few points to ponder...the sheets had the appearance of not being ironed, the same chipped teacup was presented each morning at breakfast, the bath/shower mat was not replaced for the 2 days of our stay. There is a fridge and a kettle with 2 mugs and glasses in the room...a few plates and  cutlery would have been helpful. On our departure, we had expected to see Donatella and/or Andrea to say 'arrivaderci' but we left without any sign of them. Perhaps we were expecting too much?
