Very cordial reception, excellent food (pig salad of madonies and first with exquisite meat sauce); informal, perfect for relaxing in the countryside. offers what it promises, without frills. quality/price ok, recommended.

A real farmhouse

You can find a small paradise near Gangi in Sicily. Amazing setup of the farm more than 1.000m above sea and the food is simply delicious! A silent place to recommend for a short break in the Sicilian mountains! Gangi in a town you should have seen once ... don‘t visit Enna, visit charming Enna!

Wonderful place, host and food 

We spent Christmas 2017 (6 days) at Tenuta Castagna. What a beautiful experience it was! The owners and staff are gorgeous. They made us feel as if we were family. We felt at home. The place is absolutely stunning! Stunning views, stunning walks in the country side amongst cows, donkeys, horses and pigs roaming freely the countryside - a breath of fresh air from the usual hustle and bustle of the cities. 

Sicilians are renowned for their hospitality and we experienced this every day of our visit. Mina and Agnese went out of their way to ensure that our experience was a superb one. Sicilian cuisine, of locally sourced items was another extremely enjoyable experience. 

I can only highly recommend this place as a true agriturismo experience where one feels truly at home. We are sure to return.

A beautiful experience

Beautiful accommodation in the high altitudes of the Madonie, excellent dishes and very kind staff. Air, nature and tranquility make it a masterpiece, the possibility of those who do not want to be with their hands in hand to trekking or mountain bike.

May 1st in peace

This is a spectacular location with great potential, suitable for families and for those who want an oasis of total peace and relaxation.Excellent service thanks to Agnese and Salvatore who are not the owners, but run this place with excellent professionalism and dedication.Salvatore a wonderful person and an exceptional cook who has nothing less than the famous multi-starred, we ate very well and only genuine things, and then what about Agnese... impeccable housewife of indescribable sympathy but excellent professionalism, both of them are the true soul of this place, we have had a beautiful weekend with them and we will definitely return to all true American and French hearts as soon as possible.

It's a great weekend in Tenuta Castagna.

We had to fold over here because it was impossible to stay overnight in Ganges in a camper. It was a struggle to get to this property in a camper. The last stretch of the road is a bit narrow...but what a show once you arrive!!!the reception is warm, almost family friendly.The view is breathtaking,like most of the countryside of the Madones.The structure is very well kept, cleaned, well renovated and organized.You eat very well, very simple but genuine food and old flavors.But what strikes and smells is the human aspect.Gentleness, courtesy, a pinch of stros and artificially treated.My children are still treated like Anipotent, my house.We have so much room, we have so much room, and despite the weather, they have not yet put at our disposal any kind of warmth and warmth.

We were greeted by Agnese, who was effervescent and friendly and welcomed us as if it were real property.

Exploring the Madonnas

On about 1000m above sea level this true agriturismo with black pigs and brown cows offers a most relaxed stay with an excellent cuisine from which lunch and/or dinner arrive according to your wishes. Unfortunately we left one day too early because of snow threat, but we will surely return in spring. Great stay and optimum relaxation. Grazie, Mina e Agnese. Per Agnese: dosvidanja! 


A perfect stay with excellent food. 

We loved our stay here. Mina and Agnese were delightful hosts. The locally sourced food was amazing! Tenuta Castagna is very much a working farm with pigs, goats and cows. The views from here are simply stunning! Highly recommended.

Wonderful and gracious hosts, great food, donkey rides, goats, pigs and cows! This place has it all!

This place is at 1000 meter of altitude, and is a nice historical masseria-like building dating from the 19th century, nicely restored. The views are dramatic. The rooms are simple but OK (40 euros per person). The shower is somewhat small, definitely not luxurious. The road taking to this place is very tortuous and badly paved in the last 6 km, and the distance from the little, gorgeous town of gangi is 13 km. 
Breakfast is very good, you get their own yougurt and their own fresh fruit juice along with everything else you might want. 
The food is average to above average. The good thing is that it is locally made, and tasteful. We had nice homemade antipasti, a nice pasta with mushrooms, and very nice black pork meat cooked with crumbled bread on each side, a loca variant of a cotoletta. 
Fruit was fresh and very good and the cannolo was ok. If you just want to have dinner or lunch it will cost 25 euros, which is OK for what you get.
A minor drawback was the rooster right by our room that started singing at 4am.
The lady we dealt with (the wife of the owner), was very nice and hospitable, definitely made us feel welcome.
We would go back.
