We booked this room as we were visiting the Tour of Italy cycle race, so we only used the hotel for sleeping - ie didn't see much of the local area. The Bed and Breakfast is located within a large and impressive building which I assume was a former boarding facility for the local monastery/church which is why most people visit I think. The fabric of the building is well described as decaying splendour but the Belle Epoque is clean, tidy and safe inside and is serviced by a lift. There is plenty of parking at the rear, and our room had an incredible view. The rooms were comfortable - typical bed and breakfast really, with blankets etc rather than duvets. 
The highlight was the incredible service we received. We had sadly received a parking ticket the night before at another hotel when their car park was full, despite parking where directed. The owner of Belle Epoque kindly offered to take my payment to the post office on the Monday morning (they are closed over the weekend). I can't tell you how amazing this was,and no doubt saved us some money since the car hire company would have charged a premium for processing the fine eventually. Fantastic.
Breakfast was lovely, the bathroom was well equipped and comfortable and the room had a small TV with hundreds of channels. Near the hotel is a small children's play area that my son loved, and we walked up to the church building which was very impressive. 
The location within the larger building is unconventional, but I'd highly recommend it if you want an authentic italian experience. I should also mention the absolute silence at night time - beautiful after my hectic UK life!

Incredible service in this quiet and authentic B&B

Arriving fairly late in the evening, having ridden mountainous back roads, we came across this huge rather unappealing structure - giving the initial impression that it was somewhat uncared for.

However we were welcomed in a very warm manner by the proprietoress, who despite our language barrier made us feel very welcome and we were instantly impressed by the highly polished marble interior, the spaciousness and the evident quality of attention to all furniture, fitments and ceramics.

Our large room with with terrific views was beautifully clean and beds very comfortable.

We were recommended to La Bussola restaurant. 'Stonking' meal of local produce and excellent local beer. Our hotel proprietor was not kidding when asked about the pricing at the restaurant - best value we've ever experienced, and local residents were also dining there - want to return to both places again.
