 Longer review:
Rita met us at Brindisi station and took us to the airport to pick up our hire car. She stayed and directed us back to the trullo, whilst her husband unloaded our luggage at the trullo
The vista as we turned into the tree lined drive was so special.The trullo has been lovingly and sympathetically restored. There are lights starting half way up the drive, which go all round the building. These come on at dusk and stay on til dawn.
The colours of the trullo stone are so restful, sort of a rose coloured sandstone effect, but a harder type stone. A patio using the same coloured slabs has been built to make the front feel more open.
Inside it is a five coned trullo. The two bedrooms use the first two, the dining room a third one. This is furnished with washed effect furniture. The next cone is the kitchen area which leads onto the next one, a little snug, which includes the open fireplace. A little lockable door opens onto the new sitting room and the bathroom/utility area. Note that the old part has floors made of the same stone, and the new area flooring to match. I have to say it was lovely sitting in that room as dusk fell. Also the bathroom facilities particularly the shower, were great. 
The walls of the old part include lots of lovely little cubby holes, and tiny square windows. The lighting has been installed to match the 'oldness' of the trullo, so mainly it is two candle effect fittings. Nice.
Whilst there are only two double bedrooms, the sitting room includes two sofa beds, so you could have more guests.

Rita shopped for us our first night, bringing wine, coffee, sugar, milk and bread. She supplies bottled water for drinking but the tap water is excellent for cooking and cleaning. She had also given us a little supply of her gorgeous olive oil, deep flavoured and peppery, also speciality Puglia biscuits and some sweet biscuits.  She cooked us a meal of past and a lovely tomato sauce, at no extra charge!

The place itself is super tranquil, despite the fact that you are in the middle of a working olive grove. There are older olive trees, as part of the garden, and there are roses, pelargoniums, apple trees, ferns trees and cacti round the patio area.  

Rita was available by text or email throughout our holiday, and came to see us during our stay and to collect the keys at the end.

There is a Lidl supermarket at about a 15 minute drive, as is Latiano with restaurants, bars etc, so whilst you are away from it all you are not isolated.

I suppose I have to be picky and telly you that in Puglia you need to be aware of biting/stinging insects, but Lidl sell a range of sprays and citronella candles.
Also, as this is a working olive grove, there are working cats, most of which stay well away, but there was one who was very friendly on encouragement by my husband.
As Rita explains, hanging space in the Trullo is fairly limited, but we used the facilities in the bathroom/utility room.

We spent 12 gorgeous days here, and will be back!

Little piece of heaven, lovely owner, great stay

I've spent one week in trullo tarantini and still i miss the peace and relax I enjoyed staying in this ancient house
Trullo tarantini is in the perfect place, if you want to discover the seaside it's easy to reach both adriatic and ionic sea. 
Back to the trullo is stunning, placed between olive trees and figues ones, rooms and the entire place is renewed keeping the air of old times. The owners Erminia and Rita are so warm and kind.! For sure I'll be back also for a winter break! Thanks god trulli exists

Fabolous! Little place of heaven

The location is truly amazing, set amongst nothing but olive trees, it is so peaceful.  At times, especially in the mornings when we sat round the back to have our coffee, we could almost believe we were the only two people in the world.  If you're stressed out and want somewhere to go with a pile of books and a box of wine this would be the place to go!

As for the Trullo itself, the conservatory and bathroom are new, clean and very modern.  And the bathroom has a very good modern washing machine.  The rest of the Trullo is very traditional and very rustic, not immaculate but very quaint.  And we loved feeding the elderly cat who dropped by, who was very grateful, friendly and affectionate.  It broke our hearts to say good- bye to him.  Hope all future holidaymakers, follow on the tradition of giving him some food and leaving food for the next occupants to continue feeding him...he's really getting on a bit!

You will definitely need a car staying here.  There are local supermarkets but we highly recommend Auchen which is about 20 minutes away on the motorway.  It's huge and has got everything including a cash point machine near the checkouts.  Great place to go to stock up on everything!

Also recommend, if you go to the local beaches to go to one of the lidos, where you can park your car in the shade for around €5 and enjoy the facilities - bars, showers and toilets (couldn't see any public ones at the beaches).

We would also like to say a special thanks to Rita, who upon our arrival greated us with a delicious homemade selection of Italian specialties and lovely cherry liqueur, which was very welcoming on our first night!
