Renato is a perfect host and is really making an effort to make you feel welcome and provides great information about the surrounding area. The only reason that I give 4 is because the location is a bit far out of town to walk in the evening to the restaurants. Especially when it gets colder outside this is less pleasant.

I must agree with almost all the reviews, Renato is a great person, very knowledgeable and helpful. I must mention also his father, a retired bank director (even though he doesn’t look like a pensioner at all), who is helping Renato these days like I promised I would do :-). The place is great, clean, smells beautifully, with a great large bathroom. Could only highly recommend.

Amazing place, amazing owner Renato

Here’s the terrible experience that happened to us (booking period Jul 23 to 25):

We arrived just slightly later than 9pm on Jul 23, 2016 and the owner refused to talk to us, reported "No Show" to Booking.com, sold the room immediately and took the full payment of 2 nights. 

We understand that the owner was unable to reach us by phone or by email before 9pm on the "check-in" day, but as a B&B owner, he should also consider the situations that foreign travellers may have a lot of difficulty in contacting the property when the cellphone roaming service is down and in providing a precise check-in time when the GPS doesn’t guide the right route. But what is the most unacceptable, is his attitude of refusing to talk to us: he hung up the phone call while we were politely making apology for the late arrival, explaining our difficulty in reaching him and trying to ask if we can at least stay there for the second night as we made the full payment of 2 nights’ stay (from Jul 23 to 25, 2016) via Booking.com on Jul 14, 2016 which is 9 days before the actual check-in date. We tried to call the property more than 5 times after he hung up the phone, but the owner refused to pick up our phone call.

Immediately after we were refused to check in the property on Jul 23, 2016, we contacted Booking.com to inform the situation and ask Booking.com to help contact the B&B owner, however, he was unreachable, the customer service agent said that we of course had the right to stay at the B&B for the second night because we duly paid the full payment of 2 nights more than a week before the check-in date. According to Booking.com agent, the booking is confirmed and secured and should be well respected, the owner must let us stay at the B&B at least for the second night (even if he doesn’t let us in due to our arrival slightly later than 9pm on the original check-in date), otherwise, he’s responsible to find a place for us to stay. 

However, on the morning of Jul 24, 2016, we received an email from Booking.com, which confirmed that the full payment of the 2 nights’  stay at Haven B&B would serve as the penalty for “No Show”. When we called Booking.com again, the customer service agent said the system showed that our paid room was sold the day before, so there’s no room for us to stay even only for the second night. 

Now that we have no way to get back our money paid to this B&B, we felt that we MUST share this experience with other travellers, we were supposed to spend a nice holiday in the beautiful city of Lecce, we DON”T deserve such rude and dishonest behaviour of the owner of this B&B !!!

Pay Attention to the check-in time! Otherwise, you lose the money for all the nights you booked and prepaid.

Lovely and clean. There was four of us in a room which had a balcony and lots of room. We were made to feel very welcomed with free drinks on arrival. They also have an umbrella and sun beds at an hotel half an hour away by car on a beautiful beach FOC. The B & B is about a 20 mins walk from the center. Given lots of advice on were to go.
