We loved staying here, just outside Levanto. Vittorio speaks excellent English and is a mine of information. He is so helpful and we had many enjoyable conversations with him. He provided a free parking pass for us to use, though we didn't need it (we cycled into Levanto, 5-10 minutes). We had a spacious room with table and chairs, a fridge, a bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. There was also a small table and chairs on the terrace, and a bigger table and chairs in a covered loggia-type area (which also housed a very useful clothes drying rack, and a microwave). We ate breakfast out there every morning foe a week, enjoying the view while savouring the delicious range of local products brought to us by Vittorio, who was happy to describe everything. The focaccia and 'limone marmellata' were particularly outstanding, but everything was truly delicious. Cleaning was to a high standard and Vittorio offered us a change of towels before we needed to ask. No air-con - it's a traditionally-built old building - but there was a large fan which was most useful. Would definitely recommend.

Superb

Our stay was just great. From the start: beautiful surroundings, wonderful view and quite close to the city centre of Levanto. Vittorio is the great host, extremely helpful and speaks very good English. Beautiful Italian breakfast with delicious foccacio and equally perfect coffee will make your day. We recommend renting a car as the drive around is spectacular and also parking pass is included in price of accommodation, so you can leave your car in the city centre. Area is great, although there are much better beaches in Europe. Altogether perfect host to visit Cinque Terre.

Just perfect 

Staying at Villa Caterina in Levanto was an exceptional experience. This family owned property was one of the cleanest, friendliest, and most peaceful places we stayed in six weeks of traveling in Europe. It is outside of town so you need a car, but if you have wheels you will love staying here (there is free parking available). While the area is safe and quiet, it also has multiple locked gates and doors for those who like to feel secure. There are about five rooms for guests so you aren't alone, but you're also not crowded. A wonderful breakfast is served by the owner and his father, including fresh juices and cappuccino. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed meeting guests at breakfast from Australia, Italy, and Germany--all couples, all interesting to talk to. The cost is a little higher than we like to pay (about 90 euros/night) but in this case, you get what you pay for. The rooms are large, immaculate, and very comfortable. Everything is made of the highest quality materials and everything works. There is a large shaded outdoor patio where breakfast is served surrounded by beautiful landscaping. There are several places to sit and read or check email. Internet is good, although the upstairs rooms don't get a strong signal. There is a common kitchen where you can store food and drinks, and even make meals if you want to (except breakfast because the owners use the kitchen to make breakfast for the guests.) The building is only for guests; the owners live nearby. After four days we felt like a part of the family and would have been happy to stay twice as long.

Immaculate, friendly, and secure

Lovely new accommodation in a delightful setting.  Rooms were beautiful decorated and the furnishings were all new and all very comfy. We had a lovely view from our room.  Our host was very very helpful in showing us the facilities and also in helping us sort our train trip to Cinq de Terre. The breakfast room had a fridge and other facilities available for tea or coffe any time and in the morning, a lovely fresh breakfast was provided with plenty of choice.  I asked for a needle and thread to mend my jacket and presto, Mr. Host Senior managed to find a needle and thread. Although this property is out of town, it is a beautiful place to stay and the drive to town which is only a few minutes, is a lovely drive.  Thoroughly recommend if  you have a hire car.  Few little things required in the bathroom, such as tissues, but as this is a new property, I am sure all these little extra things will be included as they are noticed.

BEAUTIFUL ACCOMMODATION

Just by sheer luck and my wife's persistance were we able to stumble upon this hidden gem of a B&B in Levanto.  For those people heading to experience the hiking and the sights of Cinque Terre don"t bother staying in any of the 5 towns designated as the Cinque Terre reserve.  You are way better off staying in Levanto and either hiking to Monterosso or catching the train (5 Minute ride), because  Levanto has better food and better amenities.  Having travelled to each of the five Cinque Terre towns I can assure you the food is mediocre at best and the the hotels and B&B's over priced.  But back to Villa Katerina. Vittorio, the owner operator of Villa Katerina is probably the nicest most humble person I have ever met!  Seriously, there is nothing this guy won"t do to make your stay the best experience you have ever had. Not only did he pick us up at the train station he insisted on driving us in and out of town each and every time we wanted to go anywhere.  But let's talk about Villa Katerina.  In 30 years of travel, I cannot say I have ever stayed in a cleaner B&B.  I mean really the place was immaculate!  But if that wasn't enough, the smell of the flowers wafting fragrances through our room drove us to wander outside just to get more of the fantastic fragrances. On top of all of that, his prices are at least 10-15% lower than most other B&B's  While Villa Katerina isn't perfect (no WiFi, beds could be softer), if we ever return to this area we would never consider staying anywhere else.......

A real Gem

We spent 3 nights in Cinque Terre at a great B&B. The extensive garden was lovely.
The host, Vitterio took great care of us. We came by train so he drove us up and down the hill so we didn't have to hike the narrow roads. Mamma and Papa helped with the breakfast.  It was a charmed experience.
