I agree with other people's reviews that the awesome location is all this place really offers.  Walkable from the major ferry port.  Also 250 meters from the spot where all the day trip boats leave.  Convenient the one day we had 10 minutes inbetween tours so we were able to run and change quick at the B&B.  
Other than that, the room smelled.  The bathroom smelled even worse.  But the A/C worked and was a nice and spatious room.  Breakfast left something to be desired.  Really amazing Panini/ wine bar right next door.  Some of the best paninis Ive had and Ive been living in Italy for a year now.

Could have been worse..

There was a no smoking policy in the rooms yet when we arrived the place reeked of smoke from the host smoking in the kitchen bordering the communal areas.

The door lock for our room was faulty and they made a point of showing us you needed to play with it a bit to get it locked and unlocked, which I do appreciate, but if they know about it then get it fixed. It's not charming it's just unsafe - what if there was a fire and we couldn't get the door unlocked from inside the room? I suppose you could jump from the balcony, if you could get the balcony door open - Arnold Schwarzenegger might be able but I struggled...by the same token I wasn't able to shut it properly either, so had to make sure the external blind was closed so that when the storm hit, water didn't come into our room, but in order to close the outer shutters I had to open the balcony door...do you get the conundrum here?
One last thing about the balcony - it had a canvas advertising sign roped onto it so that all night long it flapped about like someone slapping a rug outside our window. If I could have opened the balcony door I would have cut the bloody thing down and thrown it into the street.

The room. It could have done with a damn good vacuum or a sweep, though maybe it was the tiny plaster particles falling from the ceiling which made the floor feel gritty - I certainly wasn't walking around in bare feet. Waking up with tiny plaster particles on your face was something I had never experienced until now - that was interesting, as was the exposed wiring of the ceiling light.

The cradle for the showerhead (one of those removable snake-type things) was already broken so we had to take turns in holding it for each other from outside the shower - there was no way 2 people could fit in there to try sharing the holding of the shower head.

But all of this probably doesn't worry our host as the only other people staying there at the same time as us seemed to be their friends, judging by the all night socialising in the common area right outside our room. This may also explain why no one was awake for us to check out on our last morning. We waited for some breakfast but when by 9am no one had surfaced, we decided to start making alot of noise to wake our host up.

On the positive side, the breakfast terrace has a lovely view and the location is excellent - none of this matters though as I will never stay here again.

I don't know about anyone else, but for euro$70 per night I expected better. When we arrived at the ferry terminal for return home only to find they were not running that day due to bad weather, there was no way we were going back to Ventura B&B. We found another place called B&B Diana Brown for a cheaper price and a far superior quality - I wish I'd known this beforehand.

One last thing - the hotel description states "Just 250 metres from Marina Lunga port" but this is not where the ferry comes in. My advice is, when you arrive catch a taxi, otherwise you will most likely get lost and end up needing a taxi anyway.

I cannot recommend this place

If you want location-this is the place. Once we stepped outside it was magnificent. However that is all it offers. My husband researched this entire trip using Trip Advisor, and we stayed in many places during the 28 days we were away. Trip Advisor steered us wrong only twice. This was one of them. The room was clean but offered nothing much else. The breakfast, other than the good cappuccino, was all pre packaged. The people running the place were not very friendly.

Pick another Place

Doesn't look good from the outside.. Inside is better, but has a number of problems. 
Bed is not comfortable, really noisy... you can hear all what is happening in the reception and outside. We stayed two nights and they do not clean the room, which you expect for a B&B.
The breakfast wasn't good..nothing fresh.
If you are looking for something cheap, there are people offering you accommodation when you arrive in the ferry for 20 Euros, but I don't know how they look like.
