We spent 2 weeks in August in Serratone Agriturismo.
The place is near Grossetto, around 6 km from the main road in the middle of typical tuscan countryside. In driving to and from we have often seen roe deers playing in the fields, foxes and more. The place is simple but authentic, with 4 small apartments built in the old barn with solar panel for DHW. The swimming pool oversees the hills around.
It is possible to have lunch and dinner with very traditional home made pasta, venison and much more - it was great.
The closest beaches (Principina a Mare) are around 45 minutes away. We alternated sea  with sightseeing trips (Saturnia, Montalcino, Pienza, Scansano, Orbetello, Monte Amiata).
The best part is the family,Tiziana, the grand parents and the children they all do their best to make you feeling at home. My daughter is still talking about Michele and Rachele.

Farmhouse near Grosseto

Starting with location. It is 6km from the main road and that leaves you a further 6km from Grosseto and 15km from Scansano. The location is really in the middle of the countryside and its a beautiful tranquil area with plenty of wildlife although unfortunately we didn't see much at the times we passed. We knew it was remote and have no complaints with that however if you are beach lovers be prepared for a 30 min drive to Principina or Marina di Grosseto. It would be perfect if you are looking for a peaceful week as a base for exploring inland.

The room we had was the end one of 4. It was spotless when we arrived, simple but well stocked with utensils for cooking (no microwave or toaster but I it was not a problem). The lounge/kitchen/dining area could do with some shelves or another table as our table inevitably got full of holiday things that had to go on the floor at eating time. There was another table outside but at lunchtime we found we were plagued with flies. 

First night we ate in the 'restaurant' and it was great, quality and price but we ate a second time the following week and were almost deafened by the constant pinging of the microwave....something which is very, very disappointing when eating on a farm. We knew we were the only guests there but it could have been done better.
We asked for recommendations of where to eat as we like to eat out at different places during holidays but the owners only recommendation was a pizzeria, fortunately via tripadvisor we found many excellent restaurants for which I have also done reviews. Maybe the owners don't eat out very often, as there were many places they could have told us about, it may be a good idea for them to keep a book where guests can write the names of restaurants and other things worth visiting.

Its unfortunate that the outside areas are showing their age, the pool needs relining and more regular cleaning as both the paint from the bottom and flying insects become a problem, there are no umbrellas and in addition the sun beds are nearly all broken. The grass was only cut just before we left. The accommodation was cheap and we would happily have paid a little more if that money would be used to update the pool area. With a little love it could be brought back to where it perhaps once was when newer.
